Personally I found that my dodge/evasion rate increased as my defense increased

I also noticed, Hinata with mystery skill activated can be hit by the opponent if the BP gap is big.

Ya, thats how I figured defense played a role. GNW Neji was the same way. When I swapped my mood from +hp to +def I dodged alot more often the closer my defense was relative to my opponents attack.

Perhaps that's the reason why defense mood is recommended for Itachi.
Now it makes sense

curious i always assumed that defense would increase the evasion rate of taijutsu based abilities and resistance would increase the evasion of ninjutsu based abilities, and for the nin+tai abilities it would be a 50-50 of both.

this line of thought is due to the fact that efense reduces taijutsu damage received and resistance reduces ninjutsu damage received.

Can someone confirm this?

aren't resistance only to decrease ninjutsu dmg and increase "shield" buff ?

Far as i know combo decides if a character like hinata avoids/gets hit by a standard attack.

When it comes to Itachi/Neji etc i havnt noticed any difference in increasing stats and them dodging, Im guessing its rng depending on many things. Would be nice to get a confirmation tho.

i though unique thing that was involve was level (maybe was bp or def like you said but i though was level). For example hinata 10 lvl lower wont block nothing at all, but 10 lvls ahead gonna block 100%

But that could be correlated to the fact that higher levels, have higher stats. So don't know

Theres probably a few factors that are involved in the formula. But I know for a fact increasing def mood 45% on my neji dramatically increased his chance to dodge when I was fighting in ninja exam. (Think it was the 105 struggle where I needed to dodge almost every attack in 1st round and 2nd round to win)
