  • Ya, thats how I figured defense played a role. GNW Neji was the same way. When I swapped my mood from +hp to +def I dodged alot more often the closer my defense was relative to my opponents attack.
curious i always assumed that defense would increase the evasion rate of taijutsu based abilities and resistance would increase the evasion of ninjutsu based abilities, and for the nin+tai abilities it would be a 50-50 of both.

this line of thought is due to the fact that efense reduces taijutsu damage received and resistance reduces ninjutsu damage received.
