Minato scales (increases his combo and atk every time he chases), suit Gaara doesn't, based on that alone it's an easy choice to pick Minato. Ninjas that don't scale are very hard to use as pos 1/carry ninjas.

Two questions: First: For Fire main's updated passive, is it really that after he does his first move of the round, the rest of the team just gains a flat 4% ninjutsu increase at that moment? I'm pretty sure it's actually that after this skill is activated, every time ninjas in your team cause ninjutsu damage they get the 4% nin scale. So they have to cause dmg, but if they do a lot of hits that round it can actually be better than just 4% one time at the moment Fire main triggered the skill that round. I saw this happen while using AC Deidara in Infinite Illusion. Second: So does Madara gain 20% res and def every time he activates his barrier, or does that only happen when his barrier activates and cancels shields he had on him? Because I think it was that way in CN (every time he canceled shields), and since the descriptions in EN often lack information that is actually in the game, I just wanna confirm this. Like, for example, if it was when he canceled shields, it might make sense to run Earth Main with ETR Madara (before it didn't make much sense because you would poison yourself by using his mystery 3) because you could use Madara's passive 1 Y form, set up Earth main's shields with mystery 3 at the start of the round (or use his passive that gives the team shields at the start of the battle), wait for Madara to get hit and then activate his barrier at 95% health, cancel the shields, and then get the resistance buff. But if it doesn't need the shields then sadly there is still no reason to use Earth main with him.

Your team looks fine for the ninjas you have right now, but I'd move Kurenai into pos 2, Naruto into pos 3 (in the spot behind Madara) and your main character into pos 4. I'd also suggest switching to Fire main and using these talents: 3,2,4,4,4 and for your chase summon either Dog of Hell or Ninja Dog Shiba.

Like the other poster said, getting 4* SOSP Naruto would be good, but that's probably a pretty far-off goal for you now, and by the time you save up enough coupons to buy him (like 30-35k coupons) he might not be the top meta anymore. I would say just save your coupons and watch the meta. For now, you can try this team: Pos 1 Roshi [Edo], pos 2 Hashirama [NY], pos 3 Fire main, pos 4 Rin. Main character talents - for the mystery you c*e either the sealing lock (#3) or the illusion mirrors (#4), standard #2, chase #1, first passive #2, and second passive #1. For the chase summon, use the Dog of Hell or Ninja Dog Shiba if you don't have the gold summon.

You can try this: Pos 1 Madara [Warring States], pos 2 Fire main, pos 3 Hashirama NY, pos 4 Asuma. For Fire main, your talents should be: 1,2,3,2,4. At the start of the battle you should try to immediately use your main's mystery so that their second passive will activate and allow the rest of your team to scale from the damage they do for the rest of the round. And then because of Asuma giving you an extra 20 chakra, you should be able to use NY Hashirama right after that. Just be careful of being interrupted by your opponent (like if they have Iruka, Edo Itachi, Summer Kurenai, etc.). Good luck.

If you really want him, I think his fragments are available to buy for coupons if you get him to show up in the Treasure of the Sage event. But otherwise yeah, it's just pulls from the treasure and occasional drops from Survival.

Ok I didn't realize Jiraiya still locked Minato's mystery even without the bond skill. That's pretty wack but whatever, weird interactions like that are to be expected at this point. Naruto SOSP is basically the best P1 ninja you can get for coupons right now. Edo Madara is also good, but I would not go for him right now since you have Toad Jiraiya and Madara is a barrier ninja. In terms of Infinite Tsuki ninjas, I don't know exactly who will be in the packs for January but it's probably gonna be GNW Orochimaru (who is a great support but not really a pos 1 ninja), Six Paths Tendo Pain (he is a good P1, I'd say he's probably in the same tier or a little higher than SOSP Naruto), and maybe 10t Jinchuriki Obito. 10t Obito (with BT) is pretty much the best p1 ninja in the game right now but he's really expensive and you need to have him 4* for his BT.
