Beginners Guide to the 8 Inner Gates!
Alrighty, ZaChan here!
I will give you a Beginners walkthrough of the new Feature, The 8 Inner Gates!
Just to let you know, this is a long guide, there is a lot of info to cover. It is a lot to read, but it is worth it to understand how the 8 Inner Gates Feature works.
First of all, what is the 8 Inner Gates?
The 8 Inner Gates is a feature that allows you to increase the base stats (and therefore the Power) of the ninja you have in battle.
Where is this feature?
On the lower bar of options, in between the Summon and Battle Armor menus.

Okay I am in it, now what?
This is where things get a tad bit complicated. There are a bunch of *ons that you can press, let’s take a look at them.

So, when you first enter the 8 Inner Gates menu, you will be on this screen, it is the Training section of the menu.
One of the first things you will notice is all of those Rock Lees and a couple of Guys. It shows different levels of the 8 Inner Gates being opened (as seen in the anime and manga). Now you will probably notice that the first one is glowing and has a Click to call *on below it. The glowing Lee shows which level of the Gates you have activated. When you press Click to call, you pay some of your coins and the gate level will randomly change.
The gate level that you currently have active will determine how much coins you will have to pay. Lv. 5 cost 50k coins (Guy with some 8 Gates activated)
What am I paying this large amount of coins for? For Chakra!
What is chakra? So, every time you Click to call, you obtain some Chakra! Well, specifically you are obtaining Chakra Runes.
Okay, so…..
Okay, I’ve got some of those Chakras. What’s the difference between them?
There are a few differences between the chakras, first of all:
Grey = These are labeled as None because they are a failed attempt to make some Chakra Runes, you can Sell them for 2K coins each.
Coloured = These are successful attempts to make some Chakra Runes! You can either Sell them or Collect them.
Collecting them will send them to your Eight Inner Gates page.
The next difference is the colour of their names! Like most equipment and tools in the game, these are coloured to show their rank. Green, Blue, Purple, Yellow, and Red Green being the lowest rank and Red being the highest! The higher level the level of gate activation you get, the more likely you will get a better Chakra Rune!
Okay, I get that. They each have different names, what do they mean? We will get to that in a minute. First, let’s look at all those other *ons!
Auto Practice = Automatically preform Chakra Practice. This *on will auto Click to call until all you don’t have enough coins(or fills up all of the Chakra Rune spaces).
Sell in one Click = Automatically Sell all Grey Chakra. This will Sell all of the Grey chakra you have obtained so you don’t have to Sell each one individually. It will leave the coloured chakra alone.
Accept in One Click = Automatically Sell all Grey Chakra and collect the remaining Chakra runes. This will take care of selling the grey and collecting the coloured for you.
Call Guy = I haven’t done that yet, it costs 100 coupons/ingots and will jump you to Guy, not worth it honestly.
Lucky Runes = Short cut to Lucky Runes menu to get more coins
Okay, so I’ve finished selling and collecting my chakra (and have become very poor now); what are those Practice Points? They are worth stuff, right? Yes! They are obtained every time you Click to call, and can be redeemed in the Exchange Chakra menu.
You can exchange the points for Purple and Yellow chakra, (Bloody expensive) also, you can see here, that each type of chakra will increase a certain stat! Water = Life Fire = Attack Earth = Defense Lightning = Ninjutsu Wind = Resistance Explosion = Critical Inferno = Injury Gale = Combo Quick = Initiative (Only Obtainable from the Exchange Chakra as a Purple Rune) Ice = Control Scorch = TAI *ion Corrosion = NIN *ion Sand = Dmg Reduction Wood = Life Recovery
Okay, these seem a bit like those Summon Runes, Right? Yes, that is correct! Now we will move to the Eight Inner Gates page!
On the left, you will see your Ninja that are In Battle and can click on them to see each of their 8 Inner Gates slots. They are ordered depending on their move order in battle. Move 1 at the top tab and Move 4 at the bottom tab. The move order depends on your formation ( adjusted in the Ninja menu)
On the right, you will see your unused Chakra Runes (that you just used up all your coins to obtain).
For each of your In Battle Ninja, there are 8 gate slots, as the name suggests, shown in the middle of the page. You will only be able to use the first 6 initially.
When can I use the other 2?
Gate 7 is unlocked when your main character hits Lv. 80, the final gate is currently unavailable (in the anime and manga, they say if you unlock it you will die! Gasp!). This post was last edited by ZaChan at 2016-11-16 03:56 This post was last edited by ZaChan at 2016-11-16 13:57

Okay… so how do I put the chakra into the slots?
To imbed Chakra, you can drag and drop one into the desired slot, or you can double click on the chakra to put it into the next available slot.

Okay, I see three more of those *ons, what do those do?
More *ons to do things for you! Yay!

Lock = Lock/Unlock Chakra. It doesn’t keep the Chakra in place, only prevents them from being synthesized.

Imbed in one click = Imbed all available Chakra Runes in One Click. This will fill up all of your empty slots for you with the unused Chakra Runes.

Synthesize in One Click = Synthesize all Unlocked Chakra Runes in One Click.

What does Synthesize mean?
It is the same as merging Summon Runes. You drag and drop one Rune over another to make the first one gain Experience. The second Rune is consumed in the process. If you attempt to merge a purple Rune with a blue one, regardless of which is first, the purple will be the one to gain Exp. So, don’t try to use your higher ranked ones to boost your lower rank ones, it won’t work.

What happens when I get lots of Experience for a Rune?
The rune will level up! It will give you a better stat and Power increase when you level one up!
Be careful when Synthing, it is best to do it manually, rather than auto, as it may use ones you want to keep to level up others.

If I level the Rune up enough, will to change colour?
Not as far as I have seen, and I don’t know the level cap for Chakra Runes yet, before you ask.

How much Experience is needed to level up my Runes?
That depends on the Rank and Level of your Runes.

Green
Lv.1 = Cost 20 Exp. to level up to Lv.2
Lv.2 = Cost 40 Exp. to level up to Lv.3
Lv.3 = Cost 80 Exp. to level up to Lv.4
Lv.4 = Cost 140 Exp. to level up to lv.5
Lv.5 = Cost 200 Exp. to level up to lv.6
Lv.6 = Cost 260 Exp. to level up to lv.7
Lv.7 = Cost 320 Exp. to level up to lv.8

Blue
Lv.1 = Cost 24 Exp. to level up to Lv.2
Lv.2 = Cost 48 Exp. to level up to Lv.3
Lv.3 = Cost 96 Exp. to level up to Lv.4
Lv.4 = Cost 168 Exp. to level up to lv.5
Lv.5 = Cost 240 Exp. to level up to lv.6
Lv.6 = Cost 312 Exp. to level up to lv.7
Lv.7 = Cost 384? Exp. to level up to lv.8

Purple
Lv.1 = Cost 36 Exp. to level up to Lv.2
Lv.2 = Cost 72 Exp. to level up to Lv.3
Lv.3 = Cost 144 Exp. to level up to Lv.4
Lv.4 = Cost 252 Exp. to level up to Lv.5
Lv.5 = Cost 360 Exp. to level up to lv.6
Lv.6 = Cost 468? Exp. to level up to lv.7
Lv.7 = Cost 540? Exp. to level up to lv.8

Yellow
Lv.1 = Cost 72 Exp. to level up to Lv.2
Lv.2 = Cost 144 Exp. to level up to Lv.3
Lv.3 = Cost 288? Exp. to level up to Lv.4
Lv.4 = Cost 504? Exp. to level up to lv.5
Lv.5 = Cost 720? Exp. to level up to lv.6
Lv.6 = Cost 936? Exp. to level up to lv.7
Lv.7 = Cost 1152? Exp. to level up to lv.8

Red
Lv.1 = Cost 144? Exp. to level up to Lv.2
Lv.2 = Cost 288? Exp. to level up to Lv.3
Lv.3 = Cost 576 Exp. to level up to Lv.4
Lv.4 = Cost 1008? Exp. to level up to lv.5
Lv.5 = Cost 1440? Exp. to level up to lv.6
Lv.6 = Cost 1872? Exp. to level up to lv.7
Lv.7 = Cost 2304? Exp. to level up to lv.8

Uhh… why are there some question marks there? Don’t you know what you are talking about???
Hahaha, I will remove the question marks when I am able to confirm how much Exp. it costs. I only have one yellow and I don’t have a red one myself.
I did a bit of math and found that for Exp. needed:
Example/Blue
Lv.1 + Lv.1 = Lv2 24 + 24 = 48
Lv.1 + Lv.1 + Lv.2 = Lv.3 24 + 24 + 48 = 96
Lv.1 + Lv.2 + Lv.3 = Lv.4 24 + 48 + 96 = 168
Lv.1 + Lv.2 + Lv.4 = Lv.5 24 + 48 + 168 = 240
Lv.1 + Lv.2 + Lv.5 = Lv.6 24 + 48 + 240 = 312
Lv.1 + Lv.2 + Lv.6 = Lv.7 24 + 48 + 312 = 384

So, I was able to predict the Exp. cost of some.

Additonal Sample Data:
Auto Practice, Synth to One, Sell all Grey.
5 Autos = 164K Coin average per Auto
10 Autos = 189K Coin average per Auto
15 Autos = 204k Coin average per Auto (hit 8 gates Guy, so average was higher)

Special thanks to maiku (S2, Group: Uchiha) for the Additional Sample Data, the info on the red Rune and higher leveled Runes, as well as some of the advice.

If anyone has additional questions, feel free to ask! I will try to answer them as soon as I can!

Excellent info! You did a superb effort, thank you so much.

But one question I was looking for an answer to was: Considering there are limited Chakra slots, how would u rank the Chakra from "Best" to "Worst"?

I am having a hard time deciding what I think would be better to have from all the possibilities. I know the answer may be dependant on the type of ninja or team a player has, so I just would like to know for a "good-all-round" team what would be the ranking of preferred Chakra?

You follow your team set up /s.

IMO the 2 runes you must have are the Initiative and Damage reduction, the rest are up to you

edit: Control, combo, injury, and critical are good for almost everyone too

injury affects ur ability to crit someone, and also reduces the chance of someone criting you.

i think someone did the math and it basically gives you 1% more damage overall the nin *ion i think at least.

No, CRITICAL is the one that increases your crit chance and decreases the chance you get critted.

In any case, the first 80k practice points should be spent on 4 init chakras and nothing else. Until then... no reason to worry about buying NIN *ion and the like. This post was last edited by Mitrandir at 2017-3-7 22:53

read injury stat, it reduces the damage of the crit you receive, so it's still useful, regarding crit, works similar as injury.
