Summary: A tale about the 5 Naruto Online Main characters set in the West, where the lands are lawless and the only way to survive is to use your wit and your will. But in such harsh places, there still remains honour among thieves and bonds forged in fire.
Honour in the West (1): The Blade and The Blaze

A man sat alone at the bar, swirling the drink in his hand before taking a tentative sip. He savoured the burning sensation as the liquor went down his throat before his eyes was drawn to doors swinging open. In walked a man with confidence in his steps, loosening the red mask around his neck, and he strode up to the bar setting down a few coins.

"Whiskey," he said simply. The bartender nodded and he immediately went to work serving the beverage to him. The man drew his eyes back to his own drink ignoring the stranger who had opted to sit next to him.

"Excuse me, sir. I need help looking for someone." Light blue eyes studied the young man.

"Who wants know?"

"Name's Scarlet. I was told that I could find someone by the name of Midnight." The man's eyes narrowed, taking a big gulp before slamming the glass down.

"I hear the name a lot around these parts."

"Yes, they said he wore a blue vest with a white shirt and matching hair. Do you know anyone who fits that description?" Scarlet said pointedly, eyeing the man with the aforementioned appearance.

"Can't say I do." He said dismissively. Scarlet was about to continue his line of questioning when the doors to the saloon slammed open and a bearded man with a brown coat snarled but the most distinctive thing about him was the brown stain on his shirt as he caught sight of the white-haired man.

"Midnight! You've got a lot of nerve showing your ugly mug around here."

"Look who's talking, Kaito." Midnight snarked. The man stomped forward, his hand reaching forward to grab Midnight when his wrist was caught in a vice grip.

"I wasn't done talking to him." Scarlet said with a smile. "Now if you could just wait your turn and let me finish my business with this gentleman, then everyone will walk away unharmed."

"And who the hell are you giving orders?" The man growled.

"Just an interested party and someone you don't want to cross." Scarlet said lowly but the man didn't heed his warning as his other arm whipped forward to hit him in the face but his fist was grabbed by another hand in a surprising show of strength. When the man felt the bones in both fist clench harder and crack, he cried out in agony and dropped to his knees. His arms crossed as the two men didn't pay him any heed.

"Tell me what you want so I can get back to drinking."

"I'm looking for the treasure of Gelel." The chatter in the bar immediately turned to silence when those words were uttered. Midnight stared at Scarlet calculatingly.

"You're either incredibly brave or *, if you're chasing after that myth." The man whimpered when he felt the bones creak and he tried his hardest to suppress the tears but these men didn't let go.

"Maybe I'm a bit of both." Scarlet smiled in response.

"And pray tell why are you doing this?" Midnight was not satisfied yet and continued with another question.

"It's not for me but for someone close to me. I made a promise and I intend to keep it for my friend." Midnight's face softened just a bit before he let go and the man cradled his hand, whimpering.

"Alright then, I'll help you." Midnight tossed a few coins to the bartender who nodded, he turned to the other patrons and they went back to their own business although they snuck glances at him. He motioned for them to go before a gruff voice from the floor stopped him.

"You think we're done here, Midnight? Take this you *!" The man drew his revolver and pointed it at him but he never got a chance to use it. A crack in the air and a smoking hole was left in his forehead before he dropped on the floor motionless.

Midnight turned to Scarlet who had his own revolver out and spun in back in his holster.

"I think this is going to be the start of a very, very tolerable partnership."
