8 Gates Lee is better. Common sense. However, he is a gamble as his mystery targets 3 RANDOM enemies...so you should be aware of that. But against the regular lee, he is better IMO. Good Luck.

I see. But thing is, I'm still a F2Per, having just started 2 weeks ago. I'll likely not make the 600 points in time from the way things are looking. But even if I did, then a second question will pop up.

How important is star level upgrading? So far, it seems stats mostly come from magatamas and upgrades, and there's definitely a few more avenues available (like ninja tools and cultivation for example). But star upgrades is still a way to stat boost in the end.

Because thing is, even if I get Eight Gates Lee at 2 stars, will he be outpaced by a 5 stars Shippuden Lee?

ohh i see your concern.. TBH there are better ninjas out there to focus on that Lee or 8 Gates Lee. For me, having 8 gates Lee is just a token or prize....something to have. However, my use of him is limited.
