Survivial Trial needs these 2 functions... to allow you to better handle unfavorable outcomes in the survival trail, not just in losing, but in handling party damage. you wouldn't be able to go back to a previous one after you moved on to the next one, or after you collected your item prizes.


When you win a survival trial battle, you need a window reading:

"You are victorious, continue to next battle?"

"Yes (*on)" or "No, Reset Battle (*on)"

The "Yes" *on would save the battle state and progress as normal

The "No, Reset battle" *on would reset the current survival trial battle, and allow you to replay it

-AND-

When you are defeated on a survival trial battle, you need a window reading:

"You were defeated, do you wish to save battle state?"

"Yes(*on)" and "No Reset Battle (*on)"

The "Yes" would save the battle state, and all damage your opponent had incurred, as normal

"No" would reset the battle state, and your "in Battle" ninjas would be restored to their health starting the battle

These changes wouldn't be super huge, but they would make the survival trials a little more fair, and bring them more in line with the way that traditional RPG attrition challenges, like that would work...

-AND, One More thing-

Lastly... i think that there should be 1 "Recover" per play through of a survival trial, where you can click "recover" and each of your surviving ninjas will regain 25% of their maximum health...

What you mean by "a little more fair"? It's pretty easy if you ask me! Granted, it was hard before you are level 60 or so, due to unable to properly upkeep the full roaster of 12. But after that, it IS easy.

I, as a ftp, have completed survival(including 3-4 breakthrough) while using only ninjas found in elite instance, half the time with no loss, half the time throwing 1-2 team of fodder to soften that ptw who is 1-2 levels and 2-5k higher power than me when I run into them.
I've only failed once when i got 2 of those ptw in a row, and at that the strongest ones in the server, in the month or so I've used those teams.

As of the last month, since I got lucky with treasure and got sage naruto, 90% of the time i clear everything with no character, rest only 1 char loss(GNW kankuro while it was 2 star, too soft). There was only ONE time when I had to throw a fodder team, again at a top ptw.

Currently, I'm ranked top 5 in survival and top 3 in breakthrough, #1 in survival is owned by a fellow ftp(let me tell you, them ptw are lazy. I'm sure they CAN do it but... ) with no hope of me catching up to him because survival is so easy, neither of us will fail. Unless he misses a few days....

I'd rather want the game to up the difficulty along with reward, so it can actually separate the weak from the strong (btw, ptw isn't the only path to being strong, carefully selecting teams and observing in battle to counter enemy are more important). It's sad when everybody who is anybody have survival on farm and experience no challenge in it.

if you think you are going to lose in Survival click retreat, you'll be able to redo that trial again and all your health is reset to what you had before you started it.

I like the idea of usability updates, such as automatically going to the next trial, but I feel as if this may lead to more people forgetting about opening the checkpoint packs. Reset is basically retreat as Nathjan said.

I would, however, like a constant visual for how many rounds you are at in battle -- there's been a lot of threads and confusion about losing an entire team when one reaches max rounds. It would be nice to see how many rounds you're at, since some fights can last a very long time and it's easy to lose track of rounds when you may be chatting or something while doing Survival.
