So first of all what is a raid boss?
A raid boss is a event that rewards a character. The character is earned by doing in game events that requires the player to actually play the game. There is no way to pay for the character, and the character isn't going to just be given to the player. The player has to work hard for it, learn the fight, make a team, power up that team, and handle the battle well enough to win.
My Idea - The 4th Great Ninja War
So my idea will work like the ninja exams currently in the game. A great ninja war battle will be available for a limited time. Players will have to complete multiple stages of the battle. Some stages will drop items such as magatamas, food, enhancing materials. While other stages will drop the feature ninja's fragments. By completing all stages a player will earn 100 of the featured ninja's fragments. The featured ninja will start of at 1 star only needing 20 fragments, 2nd star needing 30, 3rd needing 50, 4th needing 100, and 5th needing 200. This means that by completing the whole battle for the first time a player will get a 3 star ninja. Just like the regular ninja exam players can reset the battle once a day. Players will be able to earn items, but not fragments they already earned. So say a player completed the 5th fight and got 5 ninja fragments then reset, the next time he completes fight 5 the fragments will not drop. Now for difficulty the difficulty should get higher the farther the player is in the rounds. For example round 5 should be much easier than 45. Depending on the ninja being rewarded the beginning rounds could be easy enough for a level 20 to do (minor ninjas that add a little flair to the game, but are not ground breaking), to more unique top tier ninjas that might be intended for level 80s.
Example for the first month - Attack! Sound Ninja 4 Revived
The first month this is implemented will have 4 different events each lasting for a week. First week will be "Revived Tayuya Attacks!", second will be "Revived Kidomaru Attacks!", third will be "Revived Jirobo Attacks!", and the fourth will be "Revived Sakon Ukon Attacks!". These character will have 2 forms to them. Their 1 and 2 star standard form, and their 3+ star upgraded form. Each one of these events will have 50 rounds, and the fragment drops will as be:
· Round 5 - 5 fragments · Round 10 - 5 fragments · Round 15 - 10 fragments · Round 20 - 10 fragments · Round 25 - 10 fragments · Round 30 - 10 fragments · Round 35 - 10 fragments · Round 40 - 10 fragments · Round 45 - 15 fragments · Round 50 - 15 fragments This will total 100 fragments and allow the player to get the 3 star version of the character. The character they will get will be depending on the which event is going on. Say it is the "Revived Tayuya" event then the fragments will be for "Revived Tayuya". The 50 rounds will also be unique to the event as well. So for example first weeks "Revived Tayuya Attacks!" event will have 50 different rounds compared to the "Revived Jirobo Attacks!" rounds. Now the characters themselves should be interesting, and at least create some thought in players. They don't have to be ground breaking ultimate ninjas, but at least be useable or bring something interesting to the table. For example since they are all Revived characters they could have a passive where they revive after defeated once.
Benefits of adding this feature
Right now every week all players are given are passive events that don't make them play the game anymore than they usually do. Events like the Naruto Plates or Goldfishing are just an easy way to throw rewards at the players. Adding in something like this will give players something to do, something to work towards and achieve. Not only that, but it will get the community more involved. People will start sharing teams for rounds, guide videos will be made, and people will be more open to chat about strategy or just bragging that they beat it. It will also add more ninjas to the game, and give players more options for team building, which is one of the best things in this game but players need more ninjas to work with. Best thing about this event is that it is friendly to all player. Free player will work hard, and feel a sense of accomplishment when they beat it and get the ninja, they will have someone new to mess with, and feel like they actually progressed and earned something. Paying players will do the same thing, but have an easier time due to the power bonus they get from paying. You could even throw in something like medal users get more resets per day or something like that.
Point is this event will create more gameplay for your game and get players to play, instead of just sitting around with no stamina because they swept for materials waiting for the next daily event.
Thoughts? Suggestions? Ideas?
I understand that this will probably "Not Happen". I am not asking if it will, I am asking for your input on it.
