The Idea:
My idea is to add in a weekly raffle that pays in coupons. Players get one free entry into the raffle per week, but additional entries can be purchased with ingots. The more entries that are purchased the higher the grand prize will be.
Prize List: The pot will always start off at 1000 coupons, and will increase by 5 for every entry. Entries can be purchased with ingots (price per entry will be 10 ingots). The prize list will be as follows:
· 1st Place 70% of the pot · 2nd Place 20% of the pot · 3rd Place 10 % of the pot · Consolation for entering 10 coupons.
The Draw:
The raffle draw will take place on the weekly reset day when hot topics is changed (for me it's Thursday). The draw itself will be 100% random even if you only have your free entry you can still win the 1st place prize. Players who want to increase their chances of winning can purchase more entries, but that will not cement their victory. A player that buys 1000 entries still runs the risk of only getting the Consolation prize. My ideal version of this system will only allow one prize per player per week. So if you win the 2nd place prize you will not be able to win the 3rd, 1st, or receive the consolation prizes.
Benefits of the System:
Coupons are the life blood of the F2P player base. Players are forced to save for upwards of 6 months for some of the hot topic rewards. This system gives them a chance to cut down that 6 months even if it is only a little bit. On the other hand it can be a strong investment for P2P players who can attempt to possibly double their ingots by buying entries. Also it gives P2P players something to spend their ingots on during ingot spending events, I know a few P2P that say they don't really have anything they want to buy during these events.
