Sorry for the late reply. This was not a fact of ignoring but more a fact of not knowing the answer to which i had to ask around for.

A lot of these novelties have legacy prices. Even popular items can vary in difference between player valuation and in game valuation.

And for the case of trumpets that you are mentioning, there was just no real complaints from other players in the past due to how easily they are available/farmed by activity, and supply of the it exceeds demand for the most part.
