Or maybe they can make pet system,where you can upgrade your pet,boost your stats,and summon it in battle.

Almost every summon can be a pet,and even tailed beasts(in their chibi forms)

Summons are used in chase,pet,idk,could be like ninja dog Shiba,but auto summon,and even use pre-set skill(s).Like,for example,Katsuyu pet could heal at r2,and poison at r4.Or Shikaku pet could set shields and attack.
