I've been able to duplicate your glitch; but I need more background information before I send it along to the devs.
Can you clarify what other ninjas you have on the field, as well as what round you are attempting to do this, and how much chakra you have at the time? There may be some other interactions that are causing this error. I experienced different problems with different lineups.
