How does the wishing tree level up? I am stuck in level 8 for about 6 months. WHY?

Wishing tree lvl up from daily watering friends.Since you not lvl up in 6 months,i assume you use auto method.I seen that auto waters like 6 per day,while doing it manual,you get 10.So,dont use auto,and you lvl it up faster.
