Your server has to be at least 2 weeks of age, when the event opens, in order for these events to be open.

However, regarding the actual reason this thread was opened, we do not decide the requirements for events, nor do we receive explanations for them, OP, you can try getting compensation through a CS ticket, but it will be hard to convince them to do so. Many events have their own rules, and I have been asking to get them posted in the event descriptions.
