So I just became the new leader of our group today. The most painful work for a leader is to distribute these group war packs. Now I would like to implement the GWP system (Draft) to solve this problem.I hope this can be helpful if you or your group is also trying to find a method to distribute packs.
google spreadsheet linkhttps://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/18OokBvGEq00K4sJyApcE8EcZ2CX8ez-VDBbcVNFJdok/edit?usp=sharing
What is GWP?
GWP, Group War Points, is an intangible currency that can be used to bid for group war packs.

How to get GWP?
The leader will look at total participation after the final battle. http://forum.naruto.oasgames.com/en/forum.php?mod=image&aid=3763&size=300x300&key=a3cd9710111b28be&nocache=yes&type=fixnone Basic: Each participation = 1 GWP
Bonus for full attendance: Top 10 power or contribution: 5 GWP 11-20 power or contribution: 3 GWP 21+: 1 GWP
Players with higher power contribute more in group war. Therefore, I decide to give them more bonus if they participated all battles.Players with high contribution will also have the bonus.
The leader will record all attendance and assign GWP to them based on the rule. (Probably using Google spreadsheet so everyone can see it. Transparency is important)
Something looks like this
For example: Tom's power is ranked 11th among all participants. He participated 5 battles. So he will obtain 5+3=8 GWP this week. Jack's contribution is ranked 3rd. He participated 4 battles. So he will obtain 4 GWP this week.
Full attendance is highly encouraged. GWP can't be traded
The base Price:

http://forum.naruto.oasgames.com/en/forum.php?mod=image&aid=3766&size=300x300&key=af56ea5522b26c53&nocache=yes&type=fixnone Hero Pack: 16 GWP
http://forum.naruto.oasgames.com/en/forum.php?mod=image&aid=3767&size=300x300&key=aa675b1e70429a6e&nocache=yes&type=fixnone Elite Pack: 10 GWP
You can adjust the price based on your group population.

How to Bid
Send mail to the leader by 11:59 a.m. on Sunday. Bid price must be equal to or greater than the base price.
Sample Mail: I have 35 GWP. My bids are 23 for legendary, 17 for Hero, 11 for Elite.
On Monday morning, the leader will check all mails, and then distribute packs according to bids.
Legendary packs will be distributed first. Once the winners are determined, their GWP will be deducted and they will be removed from the list. Then, Hero packs will be distributed among the rest of candidates. Same process.Elite packs at last.
If there is a Tie, people with higher power will win.
Leader bonus: The leader has the right to win any pack for the highest bid price. To ensure fairness, the leader should not be involved in the bid competition. This is also a small reward to the leader since he/she needs to handle everything.
For the first round, no one has enough GWP to bid. Therefore, packs will be distributed by powers, and the corresponding GWP (base Price) will be deducted. (to negative value)
Conclusion:
So for high power players, they will have higher chance to win packs. For low power players, they can ac*ulate their GWP over time and also win packs.I believe the bid process will be super fun :D.
If you have any suggestions or thoughts please let me know. I'm still trying to update this method.

Whoa this is really detailed and thought out :o. Congrats on getting leader and you're already doing a great job from the looks of it.

My only critique is that the highest power players don't need the packs as much as the lower ones (assuming they are paying players). Rewarding them points based on participation and change in contribution (say they had 10k the previous GNW, and now 12k, that could give them points based on the contribution) would be more fair IMO. It'll still reward higher level players (as they can donate more), but it still requires them to do convoy, plunder, etc, and lessens the gap in points between the weaker and stronger people.

Of course, higher stronger people contribute more to the war, but my belief is that getting ninjas for the weaker people will contribute more to the group then *ready strong player getting more ninjas :P. Just a difference of opinion, but still a pretty nice and detailed system.

Nice Suggestion! We just put the names and points into a rng generator thing, and pops out the winners. People who won a pack that month are taken out by default.

Yea I agree with the making the strong stronger thing. You're only as strong as your weakest link.

Especially since sometimes leaders put the strongest into the most valuable point positions during wars and the lowest in the lowest, often times the lowest are left vacant so they dont even get a chance to fight. Its pretty tailored to high powers even though low fights could make that difference between a win and loss as well.

A system like this is why my group has a very strict active rate & power minimum

Thanks for your comments, I understand your concern.
High power players' participations are important for the victory. However, if high power players think they don't need the packs, they can just give up the bid. They deserve the rewards and should have the right to decide if they want it or let other people have it. (And I believe low power players will thank them :) )
I'm trying to make the whole process to be relatively fair to everyone.

Looks like a good plan while we are still waiting for the decision of the Admins. Anyway, I am always following up on the suggestion in increasing the number of reward packs. So for now that we still don't have an answer from the Admins, this is a good strategy to implement to your group. I hope other leaders would do the same in thinking of a better way to distribute the packs.

Hey Nova,

I am very much for a DKP based system for our group for the distribution of packs for GNW.
I have been a leader in many MMO's that I have used similar DKP systems to distribute gear in for many many years.
There are a couple changes I would like to suggest.

First I believe that instead of the bonus for full weekly participation being based on highest power it should be based on highest weekly contributions. This will encourage all members to do max contributions daily, and it will still reward the highest people since they will be able to contribute more than lower levels. The reason for this change is to keep the steady growth of the group as well as to ensure that any new high powered recruits still contribute to the group even after maxing group skills.

Second I think that there might need to be a "cooldown" period implemented for receiving packs. This is just a hypothetical, but there could be the chance that later on people would just outweigh so many others in points that they can get the packs they choose every week making it near impossible for others to obtain them as well. Since the packs are essentially a random chance for ninjas and other items there is always a need for them for all players, whereas in other MMO's once the player has the item they have no need to obtain a second and others have better chances at getting them. Again, this is only a potentially hypothetical situation, but just looking out for the best interests of the entire group. The cooldown period could be any time frame, suggestion would be just one week as to keep the best balance.

As for everything else it really looks like a very solid point system and excited to see how it plays out for us.

It seems to be an interesting way of handling things and you have my support to some extent. Im going to wait and see what comes of it because under previous leader our group was awarding packs to people who participated in 1 or 2 rounds while there were still people who came to every single round who have yet to recieve a single pack.

I do hope this method pans out better than what was in place before. Please keep me informed.

In my case I'm just using a RNG bot to throw -roll or -dice commands through a chat where everyone can participate... and ofc with some priorities. Like times participated 5 / 4 times can roll for legendary and all packs, 3 / 2 can roll for hero packs and elite packs, and poor guys that have participated only once.. can roll for elite packs... Also adding a limit for legendary packs is always good, for example... winners of legendary pack this week.. can't roll for legendary pack the following week, but can still roll for hero / elite packs...
Is mostly about RNG... so let's RNG do the final job too.. but ofc as I said.. is better to add limitations and priorities like the ones above... I'm doing this with my clan and everyone is happy... even the unlucky sometimes can get a Hero pack ^^,

it's just a shame after every war Nova's walking around with the gold title everytime, and I mean, if this is his strategy, he's 5k above everyone in power so his theory works well. I miss Michi

Bad system in my opinion. It benefits high power players too much and gives low pay players too little packs, which is going to make people complain. Also I don't think the leader should get something extra. I do most things for GNW and will never accept a legendary packs. I rather give it to lower power players.

I also found over the years that players hate dkp like systems it's good idea to run a spreadsheet for rewards but making people bid for things with points is over complicating it a bit. I just distribute packs in order based on how many times you participated and whether you had a pack before or not and make sure players don't get same packs in row that is the fairest way I can do it Systems like dkp just kill interest in raids and group activities since athe less active players with jobs ad families tend to suffer from those systems.

Cool system but i don't want it as official update, a lot of people like different ways. Some groups go by donations, others by vote, some just do it by dice roll. Forcing everyone to use one system is bad imo.
