Not sure why you didn't think charging $$ is a reason why they did so since those ninjas skill breaks are good.

Because maybe was better to limit by a lot the amount of trial potions you could gain for free while making 4 times as expensive any potion you could get via ingots only and make ninjas and trials/breakthroughs way less expensive and relatively easy to gain?
