Summoning Runes/Shop + Hell Dog

For the Summoning Runes shop, I feel like spending all of my Summoning Coins on runes. . .
About 25,000 coins for one orange summon doesn't really seem like something I'd go for .to be honest. . .
With that being said, which one is worth more to buy? I'm assuming that the level 3 ones that cost 750 per pop are worth more than the level 5 ones that cost 3,000 per pop? I mean, I'm just going to merge them together, right?

Also, does anyone know how to use Hell Dog?

I'm not entirely sure how to use him, though . .
I'm using Water main, if that helps. I also have Earth and Fire unlocked, fyi.
Any teams that go well with him?

I wish I had GNW Kankuro tbh. -_- Oh well.
