Not sure about everyone else's experience, but I got the new Neji today and was really excited to test him out, because that ULT for acupuncture + 16 combo is really exciting for Fire and Lightning mains with high combo-oriented teams, and any Hinata-like ability to dodge attacks can be super useful against early Lightning Armor pressure.
Make a solid list, popped him in first row to tank some damage and taunt + evade for a while...and got promptly STOMPED by everyone I played against because he dodged 1 attack in 27 rounds of combat, but became the only target for every single attack due to taunt. Even after his ULT, his evasion is supposed to go up, but I've never once seen him dodge an attack after I activated it (6 times).

Went back to using the regular Neji and he was rotating every 1-2 attacks to dodge things first round, and usually every 3-4 after that, as we expect to happen.

Anyone else have any experience with him yet? Does this not feel more than a little underpowered for a special edition character, especially in comparison to the awesome Kiba we got last month?

Yup, tried him out today in Arena, he doesn't deflect more than normal Neji and not as much as normal Neji... maybe like once in a while. We both maybe just got unlucky tho, need to wait for more people to confirm.

Well the evasion is a total luck based so it is hard to tell. His evasion will raise but it won't raise up to 100% to make sure dodge all attacks. Even when your evasion rate maybe like 80%, you still can be attacked because it's RNG... again.

As I said in the other topic on this, ignore Hinejita for now. She'll be better much later in the game. For now * with Neji and his manly turn 1 autododge and spammy interrupt. Such things eventually fall out of favor and that's when having a trans-Hyuuga becomes viable.

He is still pretty good for the knockdown acupuncture if you aren't facing someone with reflect though.

He's only useful for his 16-hit opener that'll trigger 10x combo abilities as well as his ability to cc ninjas via combos.

Survival-wise, he's pretty inferior compared to normal Neji.

His dogde rate (and aswell as normal neji dogde rate) is affected by your level and refinement just like how combo rate work, so maybe you haven't refined his stuff or just facing opponent who has 2-3 level higher than you? My neji gnw has full 125 refinement and when facing opponent on the same level (67), after he used his skill he just evade everything just like Hinata most of the time
