Gengetsu is one of my favorite Edo characters in the Narutoverse. So it's kind of disappointing that he's no longer in the new me
Here's the team I made for him: https://youtu.be/oA4oT3kjjQ4
It's such a clutch team, but it's fun that way :P
(Position 1) Lightning Main: Lightning main increases the resistance and prevents debuffs to most of the team. It also summons a dog as a shield that is capable of blocking some blitz attempts. More importantly however, it is a round 1 and maybe round 2 control ninja to interrupt any mysteries fired off in round 1. It also generates chakra so that Gengetsu can fie off his mystery in round 1. If killed, the rest of the team can still fight well, just without as much combo. Use his position 1 wisely. It might be better to save to round 2 or acupuncture a ninja after they use their standard attack.
(Position 2) Shisui: Shisui increase the damage done overall and increases the chance of round 1 blitz in this team. His ignition is good for clearing status reflect and the dodge on top of immunity from Lightning main makes him a bit difficult to kill. His chaos mystery in round 2 is powerful, but you shouldn’t count on it since he’s position 2. However his mystery definitely is a threat, so your opponent will most likely target him instead of Gengetsu.
(Position 3) Gengetsu: Gengetsu is constantly underrated as a ninja by players around. He’s not seen around and when he is, he usually doesn’t play such a big role. Players that fight you will most likely target a ninja other than him. However with Jinpachi giving him 2 standard attacks and chances to lower his mystery cooldown, he can be the sniper of the team and take out a ninja in round 1. His double standard attack, Sniper mystery, and clone grenade deals quite a lot of damage in round 1. If you add on Jinpachi’s area attack and Shisui’s double hit, chances are that you can take out a ninja without your opponent even being aware of the threat.
(Position 4) Jinpachi: Jinpachi is a strong cornerstone to the team. He gives Gengetsu double attacks, but also clears debuffs whenever he needs to with a 0 chakra cost. Aiming at him is usually not a good idea in the beginning because he gets a ton of resistance and a fairly strong defence from his abilities. This lets him support Gengetsu quite well. The ignition that he deals is especially good when trying to blitz a team that has healers.
Let me know what you think! And if there's a better Gengetsu team you can find.
try mangetsu instead of jinpachi, 2 rounds dodge + tanky clone + double attack to whoever you chose
Mangetsu is an interesting choice. It would mean only one round of extra attacks for a chance for Gengetsu to lower his mystery for 1 round. The dodge is nice, but then there's no way to get rid of the debuffs caused by area attacks. We would also lose the dodge clear from jinpachi and ignition vs healers. It would probably be best for frontal assault teams.
