So I was running some tests in regards to the passive skills of people like Minato, Masked Man, and Shisui. As everyone knows, the skill lets you dodge, in every sense of the word, a mystery skill (and in some cases like Minato's, standard attacks). The desc
That's all fine and dandy. I was fighting someone in arena with Minato, and I got to use my Mystery first. It was a high combo dealing Mystery, and, to my surprise, it actually made contact with him, and he didn't dodge it. Now of course it shocked me because up until that point, I believed it was a gauruntee rather than simply a "Very high chance". After the chase attacks, my Itachi (Anbu) used his chase to get ignite 4 people after the combos were done and well past 30. One of them targetted Minato and, again to my surprise, HE DODGED IT. The problem I see with this that he had a CHANCE to dodge the first thing that would normally hit him, and he didn't. So then, why does he get a second chance to dodge it? That would be like me saying "Okay, well Edo Roshi has a high chance to cause repulse with his standard attack, but if it doesn't cause repulse, then he gets another standard."
I believe if he get's hit by something without his passive already being used up, he shouldn't get another shot at it. In addition, I believe that if said ninja is suffering from immobile they also should not be able to dodge. To support the immobile idea, I have the fact that if you were to Immobilize someone such as GNW Hinata or Neji, every single standard attack will hit them, and they will be unable to block it.
As a suggestion, I would like to see it through that mystery skills that cause CERTAIN damage can still cause chases to those sorts of units, as their passive could not be activated. I would also like to see that any immobilized unit with these sorts of passives are incapable of using them.
Because it's a chance. Should Roshi get another standard attack if he doesn't cause repulse with the first? He had a chance to dodge the first attack, and he didn't that's what a chance is, you may or may not be able to. If he didn't dodge it, then his passive CHANCE wasn't in his favor. Units that can cause certain damage and a chase starter are utterly pointless. Why does it matter if it causes knockdown? He didn't dodge the first, so he will just dodge the incoming chase.
In short, a chance should be seen as a chance, not a pity gift. IF they have a chance to do something, it doesn't mean they should get a free pass for another one if they don't.

It's actually the same mechanic with standard attacks though. If your first attack doesn't trigger a chase, extra attacks still have the chance to trigger it but the chase will only be triggered once overall per round.
Okay, I see it a bit better now. It’s fair, I’ll give it that, it makes a little more sense. If it was someone who could only dodge the first one each round, than it may be a different story. Thanks for clearing that up, although I still think immobilzing said unit should prevent them from being able to activate it :p
