It was on a warm night that young Sasuke decided to go off on a stroll near the village's river.

The water was covered with moonlight that made it sparkle as if it were covered with ice, while the breeze hit it with gentle pats, enough to move it in a dancing manner.

Sasuke sat down near the river, put his head on his knees, with closed eyes, just continuing to enjoy the fine evening.

Out of nowhere, Ino and Sakura ran towards him while shouting: "Sasuke, what do you think that you're doing? Your father and brother have been looking for you"

Sasuke raised his head with a faint smile, unsure of how long had passed since he fell asleep.

Sakura: Sasuke, come on, your parents are worries, you've been gone for 3 hours.

Sasuke: What does a person need to do to get some privacy? Though I did doze off for quite some time.

Ino: Some time? Your mother's been worried sick and you just bru* off as dozing off? I'm not one to tell you how to do things, but you need to be a bit more responsible.

Sasuke: Fine, I guess I'll go back.

On the way back, the * had gone their separate ways.

While in front of the gate, Sasuke looked up at the sky with a sad look.

"Is it really possible that nobody remembered? What kind of friends and family do I have..."

Right as he entered the house, he turned the lights on and to his surprise, there were multiple people shouting "Happy birthday".

Sasuke: What's going on? I thought that no one remembered that it was my birthday? Why are there so many of you?

Naruto: It's not like it's the birthday of some prince, but you're still our friend, and you better not forget it!

Fugaku: Young man, do you understand how worried we were? You've just gone off on a walk and suddenly you're four hours late?

Sasuke: I thought that no one remembered, so I went off to be alone and mind my own business.

Itachi: How can an entire family, including your friends, forget that it's your birthday? You're not a piece of furniture, get it together.

Mikoto: I guess that I'll consider this to be part of puberty. I mean, how can someone suddenly get such negative thoughts on their own birthday.

Mikoto proceeded by hugging Sasuke. The others were standing idly until a voice popped out of nowhere.

Choji: Guys, I don't mean to interrupt this moment, but can we get to celebrating? I'm starving...

Shikamaru: Have some patience for once, it's Sasuke's birthday after all.

Mikoto: You boys seem to have outgrown these types of situations. I guess that we may continue with what was at hand.

Choji: Now that's what I'm talking about!

The * enjoyed the birthday, and Sasuke had the most fun of them all.

Some time later, Sasuke went off to the backyard. He sat down and looked at the sky once again, but with a smile this time.

Naruto: Maaaaaaaaan, you really shouldn't worry your folks with disappearing like that. I mean, I get it, alone time and all, but they've been planning this for three days now. Itachi went out to invite everyone, while still being busy with his missions.

Sasuke: Just leave me alone, I'm not so eager to get lectured by the likes of you.

Naruto: Hey, just what do you mean by the likes of me?

Itachi: Calm down, boys. Everything's fine now and everyone's enjoying themselves. As for me, don't worry about it, I'll gladly make free time to surprise my little brother.

Sasuke: I'm still sorry for acting like this. It seems that something must've gotten over me and made me believe that I was irrelevant.

Itachi: Mother must be right, you are going through that period.

Sasuke: Just what do you mean with that?

Itachi: Nothing, nothing, don't mind me.

They ended up laughing and forgetting about what had happened before Sasuke came home.

The rest of the * spent the night at Sasuke's place because it was already pretty late.
