Sasuke groaned and tried to block the sun light with his only arm. It didn't work, so he opted by dr*ping his blanket over his face. It was too bright and he was tired still.
The door flung open and out came Sarada. She looked at her covered father and let out a sigh. She adjusted her glasses, right before pulling the blanket off of Sasuke, making him him grunt.
"Papa, get up! It's already 8:30!"
Sasuke didn't dignify her with a verbal response but instead turned around, grumbling something under his breath. Sarada sighed once again. Sakura's head popped in, seeing her daughter trying to wake up her father. Sakura giggled and walked in. The pinkette smiled softly and urged her husband to wake up.
"Sasuke-kun, wake up. You do know what day it is today?"
The Uchiha sighed and rose up from his futon, scratching the back of his head. "Of course. It's the 23rd of July. My birth-" Sasuke's eyes snapped open, the realization dawning him. "It's my brithday today."
Sakura and Sarada knelt down and engulfed him in a loving embrace. "Happy Birthday Sasuke-kun/Papa!"
Sasuke smiled and reciprocated the embrace, albeit awkwardly, since his left arm is still a stump. The two females got off Sasuke, allowing him to stand up. He and his family walked in to the dining room, where a variety of food lay. They sat down and started eating.
A thought came to Sarada's mind and she spoke it out loud. "Do you have any plans for today, Papa?"
She was responded with a head shake. "Nothing much. I just want to spend time with my family." said Sasuke as he swallowed a s*ful of tomatoes.
Minutes later, they finished up. Sakura gathered all of the dishes and went to wash up. Sasuke entered his room and changed into his usual attire. A knock came from the door, attracting Sasuke's attention. He faced his wife. "Were you expecting someone?"
Before Sakura could answer, Sarada went up to the door and opened it. Her face brightened up as she saw who it was. "Uncle, Grandpa, Grandma!"
Sasuke's head shot up, completely confused. Entered in his parents and his brother; Fugaku, Mikoto and Itachi. Sasuke stared in disbelief. It was impossible. They were dead. Itachi had killed his parents and Itachi himself suc*bed to his wounds and illness during their final battle. The three of them greeted Sakura and Sarada, Itachi carrying Sarada in his arms.
Itachi smiled at his brother and greeted him. "Happy Birthday, Sasuke."
Sasuke s* out of his stupor and nodded. "Thank you, Itachi."
The rest of the day was spent with all six hanging out, telling stories about Sasuke, playing games and finally, bl*owing out the candles on the cake. It was now night, and Sasuke was outside of the clan compounds, gazing at the moon. He was so distracted. Wondering still on how his family was alive.
"You seem to have a lot on your mind, Sasuke."
He turned around, seeing Itachi sit right next to him. The younger brother sh*ok his head. "It's nothing, just...I still can't believe that my life is finally complete."
Itachi merely chuckled and joined the moon gazing. "That's just how life is, Sasuke. It's not set in stone, it's completely by random chance. Many thing you don't completely expect will sometimes pop up and add itself into your life."
Sasuke could only nod. However, Itachi wasn't done.
"But, there is one thing that will always be set. It cannot be undone and it cannot changed."
Before he could process what Itachi had just said, Sasuke found his forehead being poked by Itachi's. He gaped as he saw Itachi fading out of existence.
"Don't ever forget, I will always love you."
Sasuke's eye snapped open and he rose from where he lay. He looked around, seeing he was on top of a tree branch, the moon up in the air. Sasuke sat back down, and spotted a scroll, unfurled. He picked it up and read its contents.
"Dear Sasuke, I dearly hope you thoroughly enjoyed the Genjutsu I placed you in. How was it spending time with your family again? I sincerely hope you immensely had fun. Safe travels and good luck in your mission, Sasuke. From, a friend."
Sasuke rolled the scroll up and burned it away with Amaterasu. The Uchiha sat back down and allowed a smile to creep up his face. Tears welled up from his eyes as he looked back at the moon.
"I did. I guess it's the best present I could ever get."
