Naruto Online’s 2nd Anniversary!

“Alright team, we need a plan.”

Naruto glanced around at the table, where 3 other clones and Breeze Dancer shared similar disgruntled expressions. Breeze Dancer had reminded him of Naruto Online’s upcoming anniversary and had asked him to brainstorm a couple ideas to celebrate. The eternal genin had spent more than his fair share of training hours and ryo in the game, so definitely felt obligated to help out.

“We could do a showcase of our jutsu to wow an audience?” one Naruto clone asked. A murmur of approval spread.

“Yeah! We could definitely do something with the Rasengan! Clashing them always looks cool, and we’re just clones, so nobody gets hurt!” Another inputted.

Naruto scratched his chin and closed his eyes. That didn’t sound too bad. Plus, it would definitely show that Wind was the superior element.

“So a jutsu showcase? Sounds good to me.” he said.

Breeze Dancer raised a hand.

“Oh, Breeze, any ideas?”

Breeze Dancer let a slow smile build across her face. She leaned across the table and booped Naruto on the nose. He, and his surrounding clones, gulped.

“I’d love to showcase my Harem Jutsu. Why don’t you join me for practice?”

A loud crash stopped Kakashi and Midnight Blade during their walk through the village marketplace. They looked up to see a figure that looked su*iously like Naruto flying out of a window with a stream of blood coming out from his nose. They exchanged a glance and continued walking.

“So, sensei, do you have any ideas? I’d really like to perform better than my friends to show that Lightning is the best element.

“The Naruto Online 2nd anniversary is definitely going to bring a crowd from the civilians that play the game. I wouldn’t want to disappoint anyone.”

Kakashi looked up from his Icha Icha book and feigned surprise.

“Oh? I’m sorry, did you say something?”

Midnight Blade frowned. He unsheathed his sword and flashed forward, leaving a trail of lighting behind him.

“If you won’t put down the damm book, I’ll cut it in half.” He growled.

Kakashi raised a solitary eyebrow and let out a chuckle.

“You’re a thousand years too early to steal my book, kiddo.”

“RAARGH!”

Katana and Kunai clashed, with Midnight determined to cut down Kakashi’s book and Kakashi lazily turning a page in his beloved book.

All thoughts of Naruto Online’s celebration went forgotten

Sakura wiped a bead a sweat from her brow and gave a tired smile towards a certain bluenette.

“Thanks Azure Fang. I appreciate you taking the time to help out at the hospital like this.” She said.

Things weren’t terribly busy, but medical ninjas were always in short supply and the shinobi lifestyle led to frequent injuries. Thankfully, with the Naruto Online anniversary coming up, the majority of the shinobi populace could take a break from the usual danger and celebrate.

Azure Fang sh0ok her head and smiled back. The glow of medical ninjutsu faded from her hands and she stopped the flow of chakra that kept the patient unconscious during the procedure.

“It’s nothing, Sakura-senpai. It’s always a pleasure to see you work. I’m always learning new things from you and Shizune-senpai! But, by the way, have you given any thought to my idea about a celebration?”

Sakura nodded in return. Tsunade, in her infinite laziness, had shoved the work of planning the celebration to the five ninjas, spouting something about main characters pulling their weight. Sakura had no idea what the other four were doing, but she was glad Azure Fang had asked for her help.

“Why not make it a festival like the Obon Festival? We could have Wishing Lanterns and Balloon Popping as attractions! I’m sure many of the shopkeepers in Konoha would love the extra business. Stalls for games like Fishing Mania or Ring Toss would be fun for civilian children and academy students.”

Azure and Sakura took off their scrubs and began wheeling the patient’s bed back to their room. With the jutsu over, he would be waking up at any moment now. Azure Fang nodded vigorously.

“That sounds amazing, senpai! We could set up a booth for Fortunes and wishes for the coming year. Oh, maybe Sai-senpai could give us a demonstration with his ink jutsu! Oh, and-“

As Sakura listened to Azure Fang drone on and on, she had the su*ion that she was in way over her head.

“YOSH! FIST-SAN, IF WE ARE GOING TO WORK OUR BRAINS, WE MUST FIRST WORK OUR BODIES! PLEASE JOIN ME IN 100 LAPS AROUND KONOHA!”

“Sounds like a plan, Lee! First one done has to propose the first idea!”

“Yosh! Fist-san, your youth burns as bright as your mind! But do not be disappointed if I win in our competition!”

Sakura’s eye twitched in anger. She held her smoking fist up, glaring at all the idiots in front of her. Azure Fang stood next to her, looking at all of them in sad disappointment.

“What do you mean, none of you thought of anything?!” Sakura yelled. Everybody shrunk back from the pinkette’s rage. They had seen firsthand how her fist could cause earthquakes and the quivering pile of tears that used to be Naruto in the corner could attest to just how fearsome she could be.

Breeze Dancer raised her hand.

“If I may, Naruto and I came up with a perfectly valid plan. Harem Jutsu would be good entertain-“

“Vetoed!” shouted both Azure Fang and Sakura, the former out of embarrassment and the latter out of anger.

“And what about you two?!” Sakura said, turning on the other males present. “What excuses could you possibly have?”

Crimson Fist shot to his feet and gave her a thumb-up and a sparkling grin.

“Training!” He smiled.

Midnight Blade glared at Kakashi, who was chuckling with Icha Icha in hand.

“Training,” He growled.

Sakura could feel a headache coming on. She pinched the bridge of her nose and looked to the sky.

“What about Scarlet Blaze? Where is he?”

“Sasuke-san, I appreciate you coming to Konoha to play Naruto Online with me, but shouldn’t we be discussing plans for the anniversary celebration? I understand you’re a nukenin now, but you easily snuck into the village. You can sneak in for the festivities.” Scarlet Blaze tried to reason.

Sasuke didn’t answer, eyes glued to the screen.

“Um… Sasuke-san?”

“We’re doing Decisive Bonds. Hurry up and click the mystery. There’s lag.”

“Oh, y-yes!”
