Edo Tobirama is an amazing ninja (damage, interruption, more damage, 2x interruptions with chase, good scaling) by default. The ability to proc a barrier at the beginning of a round makes him one of the best ninjas for higher power (edo hiruzen + edo tobi + edo asuma was the most common team for CN whales pre kakuzu & deidara's breakthrough).

For the same reason we can't use normal naruto for hinata's mystery or normal kakashi for minato's mystery.
