Hi! There is usually a specific version of a ninja in your "Home" that you can bond with. As long as you have a playable recruited version of that ninja, you are able to bond with the specific ninja in "Home". For example, there are currently two versions of Minato; Hokage Minato and Jonin Minato. However, the one that exists to bond with in "Home" is Jonin Minato. If you have already recruited Hokage Minato as playable, you will be able to bond with Jonin Minato in "Home", which allows you to level up and obtain some Jonin Minato fragments, even if you don't actually have him recruited as a playable ninja.
