Yupz! You will recover all the Treasure Tool essence experience. It may return to you in different forms, but it will be the same amount of experience. For example, if you used Gold Treasure Tool Essence, it may return as purple, but it will be 15 x Purple Treasure Tool Essence. 80 x 15 = 1200 which is the same experience point as a Gold Treasure Tool Essence.

Even a level 5 will return the 15 orbs. Going past level cap of the lvl 5 blue won't cause any exp loss.
