Try swapping gaara for hinata and try to go for killing him in a combo before he summons or switch to a more aoe team that can easily take out puppets before going in for a kill.

I won with 2 star sakura, 3 star kankuro, 4 star gaara, and 3 star (azure).
The ideal strategy is to kill sasori and his last puppet at the same time.
otherwise he will revive from his puppet.
also i try to use aoe mystery when sasori summon 9 puppet.

I can't help you with Water MC specifically, I beat him using Lightning MC.
However, this applies to all mains:
-Try acupuncture, sleep, immobile (anything that stops attacks) on Sasori when he goes to use his mystery - though if you can't don't worry about it because it isn't as necessary as it was with Tobirama.
-Take out Sasori's puppets before Sasori. If you don't then he will just revive as one of his puppets. Clones that attack can be good for this (Sai is a good example)
-Other than that just high damage and combos
If it helps anyone I used Lightning MC, Neji, Kakashi and Karin.

As a water mc I ended up using a MC -> Kakashi -> Tayuya ->Kabuto team. Honestly if you have area of effect attack ninja or high chase teams you "can" beat him, might take a few tries.

Tayu was only helpful in sleeping his puppets instead of breaking them, if you can avoid taking his puppets or him down till their hp is a sliver you can AOE atk him and win. If you do take a puppet down he will make a new full hp one just to prolong this sadistic mission.
Sleep does not work on him.

Thanks to mixing all the advice I read here I worked with the ninjas I have. I took War Kiba as my aoe ninja, Karin as my aoe (although her poison often meets an enemy immune state) and healer, and Hinata as acupuncturist. But more importantly this team reaches a 5 combo length.

My Azure Fang is 3* and at Jounin level, Hinata 3* and at jounin level, Karin 3* at Chunin level +2 and War Kiba at 2* at Chunin level +1.
At this time my Azure Fang is level 54 and my team's power is 8724.
For the formation I used, you can refer to the image attached.

@Jir, I suggest you post your own thread to ask for help. Putting a picture of all the ninjas you have will help too.

You have to just go pure dmg and burst him down. abandon healing and defense and go for pure burst and combo

You c*e Neji(2*) , Guy(3*) and Anko(2*) to clear that instance. But you'd need at least 8K power. And take out Sasori's puppets before him, and time Mystery skills of your ninjas correctly. :) I used that formation with my Water Main. Hope it helps! :) :victory:
