1＃ Go ToA server merge happens that also happens to merge 2 servers into 1 and you have characters on both. Would we still be able to play these characters at the same time? Or would it become against the rules?

It has been mentioned by a moderator before that you login the usual way, pick the server ID for each character, then they could be logged in at the same time. With that in mind, I don't think they'd hold you liable to any violation as it is already beyond your control.
Yeah, but I seen posts from the higher up saying you can't have alts on the same server. Then I seen posts that say you can have alts, but you can't let them benefit off of each other.

The second one is correct. You can have alts but only if you don't use one to further benefit the other

Hi! Terribly sorry for the confusion. I would like to clear the confusion as best I can =p. Alternate accounts are not against the rules, but using alternate accounts to benefit your main account is. If you play each account individually that is absolutely fine as the mini client actually allows you to do so, but abuse of alternate accounts is not.
