Feed it to a blue tool, then recycle it.

The amount of exp you get back is 100% when you recycle, but for some reason it never give back gold so.... there you go..

I've tried to use the gold essence on a B tool lvl 5 and it says it can only get max of 3 lvls of the 1200exp. So if i recycle this, will i still get all the 1200 exp back in purple essence or not?

I believe you need to level up the B tool more so that the max skill level will increase.

You dont need to level the tool to use the orange essence. I used an orange orb on a lower level tool and while the besetting only leveled up to lvl 3, it still kept all the extra xp. Once i recycled the tool i got all the purple essences back. I did almost have a heart attack when i thought i lost all those purple essences lol.

I felt the same way and you are right. From my experience, my tool was level 1 and had the ability to improve trait to level 6, but it had the potential of higher trait level. The excess experience is saved until your tool has the ability to grow higher in trait level (This can be done by leveling the general level of your Treasure Tools).

So for example, 1200 experience should be able to get your tool from level 1 to level 8 trait level with 300 experience remaining to the next level.
