Hello! I am thinking about returning to this game, but so far I still stand on the fence. It's a lovely game, but of course it has issues as any game. What do you think is the current state of the game?
How active are the developers?
How long do new servers live and what is the normal population on a server after like a month?
What is your experience with the game and Oasis at the moment?
Bottom line: Do you think I should return to this game on a new server?
as a f2p for 1+ year, i have to say that the game is pretty nice right now, i dont really think devs are doing a bad work as a lot of ppl say/think.
there will be always someone dissapointed by events and x sh1t.
as usual, every server loses a lot of people in the first 2 months, but thats not a problem if u wait for the merge.
about the experience, i was always beetween top 5, 1st f2p always, meaning im active and i just spend in power smartly after months of failing doing iddiot stuff in my first acc.
if u focus getting seals, and getting power, playing events everyday u will succed 100%, there is not doubt about it.
i honestly think that if u care about power and ranking, u should start on a new server doing everything good since the fvery first day.
good luck with any decision!
Please remember that the new content we see in our server isn't developed for our server but is translated from the China server. So there's almost little say as to what content we get. The prizes and what events happen, on the other hand, Oasis seems to control and can be sometimes a problem if you compare with other servers.
Players will have a different expérience ba
Just like Billardo, I'm f2p since dec 2016 and I'm content with my gaming experience and plan to play as there hasn't been a update/buff/nerf/content that made a huge impact that I would quit playing.

Have you played on numerous servers? I will probably be a mild spender, but I would hate to start and then have a barren server a few weeks later. How is the general population and the activity on the forums? Btw how well are you competing as a f2p?
I've been playing for about 4-5 months so far, haven't spent that much, granted a few hundred isn't that much to me, but, I think the game is nice so far. The events are sometimes garbage and sometimes really good with decent rewards. Some translations are really nasty but they tend to fix it within a bit. Now to answer your questions:
Not too sure.
Not too sure either, but that's why I don't go on new servers. My server merged recently and before the merge people were leaving or planning to but have stayed.
Read what I said up there.
Not a new server, probably the 500-700s, unless you plan on restarting 100% then yea new server.

When you mean numerous servers, do you mean playing on servers that have different languages or the the English server but different numbers? I play on China as well to get a feel of what I should do on this server once we get what they have eventually. When you mean few weeks, do you mean about 2-3 weeks?
If you plan to start on a new server, there won't be wide gap between you and the players that started from day 1 since you said you're a mild spender and if you plan to be active. I got lucky on my server as they weren't a lot of competitive players so I rose up the ranks quickly and boosted my power. Once cross sage came out, I was typically in the middle of the rankings but I knew I would get higher in the ranks eventually. Also, first thing I did when started playing is saving my coupons for a character as there are several games in the same manner where the game will provide you the game currency and you could just stockpile them. Nothing beats the feeling when someone gets mad at you for losing a match, calling you a p2w but I whip out the f2p card at them to shut them up.
Up to 70k power by being f2p or low casher you find the game actually nice, but when you reach the 70-90k region you begin to experience the existance of an unsurpassable wall and when you reach 100-110k you understand that you can't do any single mistake of any kind just to stay on par with your common enemies.
State of the game you ask? I might say same handling of tencent or oasis. We got new updates but its incomplete i dont know why they wont release the whole 3.0 and 4.0 updates. Events are i dont know some change some still the same. The thing i much not understand is i spent 15k ingots for shisui and now they put him in recharge event for 20k ingots wow just wow why didnt i wait for that. And now f2p player can get a whole 80frag pay2win ninja now if they are lucky while ingot spender sometimes not always get badluck and get the ninja for its actual prize like me duh. New server die so quickly i might say nowadays ba
So I started late July last year, on a server that had been up for about 2-3 days, give or take- so I've been playing none stop since then, 6 months ish.
I'm going to answer your questions in order, some have already been given an answer but I'll add my opinion on what you should do as a returning player, but this is dependant on your knowledge about the game, not how much you think you know either, actually know.
Firstly, the developers. I highly doubt they even know of our wants here, Oasis "say" they pass on information, but I've played a few games with publishers that just get the product from another region translated, the common situation is this- They get the game "As is", translated, there will never be any huge change, or balance edits because most of it has been out & done already in other regions for more than a year, so we're bascally getting a product in increments like a Pizza, and we get given each slice as "new" content when it's given, now when it's given is most likely decided by Oasis or when it's translated.
A new servers longevity I guess depends, on a lot of factors and those factors can range, but people blame how hard someone pays to win or the most likely reason, things don't last forever & there will always be a drop off of players.
I'd actually speak quite highly for the server I was on, it was actively holding 3-4 guilds for GNW, that were actually close in competing for the first spot for a few months, that activity declined heavily through the months with even leaders leaving, but when one guild died, it would merge with the next least active- so there was always a fair balance- I think this was more due to the players though, we had a good selection of decent minded players.
Near the end, toward our server merge we had only 2 active guilds which merged when the server merged. The merge breathed new life into the server & a lot expected it to be for the worse, but it wasn't actually that bad.
Since starting I've joined a few servers, early testing showed servers being very active but most servers get emptier every time I try a new one- one of the most recent LA ones for example had like a single guild with 30 players on it for example, it was actually as poorly populated as mine was right before a merge.
They seem to be getting wose- but I haven't tried every single new server, so it could be a Region by Region thing, or it was just random.
My experience with Oasis is, meh. I did a lot of research on them & the game during my play, there's a lot of bad history there & if you dig you will uncover a body- It's really not good & I honestly don't think they need to be anything more because they're getting a product they put no work into that is making a lot of money, they're disconnected from their player ba
Bottom line: Do you think I should return to this game on a new server?
Did you enjoy it last time you played? Knowing what to expect from your previous time, if yes- Sure, I enjoy it. I've spend a few hundred on the game so by that definition I'm not free2play, but even at a few hundred I feel like one, there are players that spend thousands, if you can get past this & just enjoy the game for what it is, I would recommend doing this, play on a server learn as much as you can unto level 80- or do that research beforehand then start again.
I made a post on reddit about this that I wish I wasn't lazy enough to find for you but I'll try to remember some things.
- Try to keep your skipping on dailys & events to a minimum, this one is probably huge. They're the only way to increase your power gradually.
- Save everything for rebates, Refines, Charms, threads & anything else I've missed- this is including seal scrolls. If you have the will power to do this, you will in the long term be far better off. The reason for this is, most of the time you wont win events unless you pay2win, so those 10-16 Advanced Refines you get for Sage World every time are off the table, so you want to maximize in other places. If you p2w, take the reward and still only spend on rebates.
- At around level 70, slow your roll- for example, don't do story missions unless you really need them, or just don't do them at all & naturally progress in level, you will gain more from it in the long run competing in lower level events, while your power is still increasing.
- If you decide to spend, spend on power over everything else & only spend on Ninja if you have done the research and figured out what team you want to aim for, choose something realistic don't go for Naruto 9 tails Chakra, or the Edo Deidara, Earth Grudge team- they're incredibly expensive.
A common way of doing things is to get a Barrier ninja & create a team around that Barrier Ninja, or go for a GNW treasure mist team. Or pick up something from a Lucky Star event & build something around him.
With higher initiative & power you can beat mostly anything- because that's the majority of what wins you a fight.
- Lastly, coupon spending. Save them for things you want, power or a Ninja- don't spend on things you don't understand & check a youtube video for more information.
Math will help you here, try & figure out what is worth spending on & what isn't. Generally the monthly Lucky Board is great to spend on for power early, because it gives quite a lot, but there are events all over the place that are great for coupon spending & some that fall off the more power you gains, like the Lucky Board.
@digital release, bro are you an old player? Just wanna ask your opinion about lucky board, is it about time they change lucky board rewards? Like people like me dont need medium refine runes and medium thread. Is there a way to reach them so we can say that to them? Will they actually listen? Thx for answering bro i know this is out of topic but i really feel lucky board and some events dont offer muh things old player like me need. This monthly event too they need to put advanced refine and adv thread too i think.
If you plan to start in a new server and to continue to play theb my only suggestion is to NOT do it in la region. Select another region even if is not in your timezone because LA region is highly unfriendly towards f2p and low cashers mostly because every cross server feature is cross server with every server of the region and not limited to clusters like other regions have.
