There is no official information about that, im pritty sure its a bug.

I don't think it's been said on the forums, but the same question was asked in Discord, and a mod answered that this clothing does not appear during battle.

Correct.

Some Battle Clothes are meant to show in battle and some are not.

Unfortunately, This is one of them.

Of course, it could change in the future with more updates that'll allow this outfit to be shown in battle.

But in the meantime, It's intended.
