Since i don't want to waste the renick card and i have a few names ready, i was wondering if anyone knows the min/max lenght for our in-game nick.

You can actually input a whole lot more of characters though but this is the max length that can be displayed.
Here's for the min.

Do you also know if there are certain rules, besides good sense, when choosing a name? If so, can you pinpoint them to me?

Hi! I believe the rules for the name is 20 max characters. I do recommend being careful of special characters. The reason is because there are some cases where special characters can cause a bug. As long as your name is not breaking any rules, it is a great name =p I would find a name you are fond of or fond of others calling you by.

The above displayed name had 31 chars..... there goes your 20 theory.
I'd guess it have something to do with 32, which is a nice, normal chunk of allocation.
Thou some special character might take up more space than a standard char. For example, Chinese character usually take twice the space of *phabetical one. So that might affect your actual name length.

Well anyway I'm pretty happy with my renick, even if it's a bit incomplete. Better safe than sorry, I daresay.
