The issue is I'm assuming you used masked man to immobilize kurenai, but his mystery also wipes buffs at the same time he immobilizes, so ofc it will cut through the flower guard. Try using neji to acupuncture kurenai, and you'll see that she is in fact immune.

Masked man mystery removes shields and buffs. Now flower guard works like root of warrior.

Masked Man Can Remove Shield and also Buff .

so probly that why .

Masked Man's removal of buffs is first applied before the Immobilization, that stripped your Flower Guard passive.
