I guess so people won't spam on world chat too much? Like in other games I was playing and all those alt spam bots with "FREE GOLD/INGOTS/COINS!!! go to getscammedtoday.com!!!"

In meantime- there's 2k+ trumpets rusting in my inventory

I guess they serve a purpose...which in this game seems to be to keep the world chat dead for the whole day.

Honestly I have around 900 and still don't even bother using more than one a day to congratulate someone.

Basically no one has ever thought they didn't have enough trumpets and it's easy to think they just "don't mean anything."

But I think that's kinda the point... any NORMAL USER should have more than enough trumpets to just never worry about them. A normal user shouldn't feel like they can't use chat because they have to conserve trumpets. It's great we have more than enough of them.

They're there so that people can't spam chat. If you have a brand new account then you actually won't have a ton of trumpets - good, new accounts don't need to be spamming chat!

I'm curious if the original poster is a new player on a new server or something... if so then it's very possible you think trumpets limit how much you want to use world chat. Well... trust me when I say you won't have to play the game very long to not pay any attention to your trumpet count AT ALL. You get plenty of trumpets. Don't worry about wasting them.

If, however, anyone IS actually running out of trumpets? Well... no one needs to talk so much that you're actually running out of trumpets!

I'm glad the world chat requires an item to talk. Kids spam world chat with random stuff like its no tomorrow then they get angry why they run out of trumpets so fast.

Believe me, there are many people on my server that i wish had LESS trumpets

Maybe he belongs in some of those servers where there is a constant world chat war so that's why he ran out of trumpets. Take a look at the misbehavior thread.

I've never seen a game where you need items to chat in World Chat before.

And to be honest, I don't really care simply since I get so many of them.

I use my trumpets to sing songs and hope people would chime in xD

I don't see any real purpose for the trumpet system besides silencing people who make low level noob accounts just to rage or advertise.

Or to silence ragers on world chat xD

I dont mind them. They are easy enough to get that a typical player shouldnt feel hampered in world chat communication, and it prevents certain scenarios as mentioned before (i.e multi troll spam) from spoiling the experience for people looking to have a decent conversation/thread going on.

Its not abnormal to have such a system, for games without a "trumpet" solution, there generally is some sort of level cap before a new player can start broadcasting speech to everyone. Better to have a system in place to discourage spammers, and I really dont see how the trumpet system would hinder any account thats more than a month old. The most useful trumpets would be is in the initial stages when a player is hunting for a good group, but generally someone would "advertise" for groups and you c*ways use the messaging system to further the conversation.

I do that too, only I get hate from it.
