You should always consider using Gakido to support characters with non prompt mysteries since his shield allows characters like Nagato and Tendo to cast their mysteries with no danger of interruption, in Nagato's case I'd say it's essential you use him with Gakido because Nagato's mystery is extremely strong and it can easily give you the upper hand in round 1.

It's propably a personal choice, but having gakido with nagato locks you into using last ninja with immobile chase. I was using a gakido - nagato - sage naruto team and while first round buff disperse was great, second round mystery was great lack of hard cc often was game deciding. Nagato on it's own doesnt require as much support as tendo, because his only hard counter is immobile. You can cast his mystery after he starts his move - he first disperses all debuffs on him (which only immobile/blind counter, if you queue up mystery during blind it still goes off) then becomes immune to debuffs (and immune to interruption by default). This way even if enemy holds any cc after u get passive debuf cleanse off, u still always cast mystery (only counter for now- masked obito). And u are always able to pull this off in pvp fights, when there's x1 speed.
