I have so many purification runes but there are basically no ways to get the protection runes except through special events. Is that simply how it's supposed to be, or am I just not playing the game to get enough of them? Besides the shop, what ways exist to get them? Reply

rebates from several events mostly.. and from mysterious cave aswell.. and ofc buying them with discounts...some packs we get for free they give us aswell... the weekend scrolls..

To be honest, I hear that sometimes, and I always have more of protectors th*ual runes...
That being said, I mostly get them from mysterious cave, and sometimes packs from events, as well as weekend missions' true scrolls.

When I spend, I normally save til Sage Treasure event comes and buy 700(100 a day) protection runes. My "best" method for getting lots of protection runes.

Maybe you are too liberal with them, personally i think anything less then good orange 90%+ not worth keeping, or even 95%+ if you are planning for the very very long run and before you even start using them, a lot of people also just spam normal runes till they roll orange initiative before using their locks on that item.

Also on topic, current event is good, you can buy 100 a day as someone mentioned, another events good for getting them in bulk are when they show up in lucky board, they normally have 200 limit or forgot it's name but the one where it has different deal every day and you can get vouchers, you can buy a lot of 20 packs from there.

But yeh if you are looking for them for free, they will be one of the rarer materials because they are technically lategame item, like advance refines/threads so they are reserved to spending events mostly.
