I completely agree with you, they need to add ways of getting advanced thread, your suggestions work quite well imo and should definitely be considered. They could also add them as redeemable rewards from events like lucky board as well.

There is absolutely no way to get to max battle armor as f2p or even moderate spender without playing this game for like 5 years as you have mentioned, if it continues this way.
