Yeah you can only chat on world when in the battlefield (if you leave you can group chat again as normal). As to whether or not this is permanent or just a bug, need to check with devs :P

To clarify, you can still see it, but you can't talk in it. (so if someone is NOT in SWB, you can see their messages)
