|Prologue- Final Part|

It was the voices that told him these things. They were like a plague in his mind. The sickness grew so vile and crazed that they became part of him. They spoke to him every day and every night. Every moment, every hour, every minute and every second. Their scratchy, needy, angry, greedy, envious voice gurgling venomous thoughts into his mind like a centipede crawling in his ear.Sighing to himself, he flinched as he heard a particularly loud cry from the Akasen that was less than a ways away from his hidden abode, but it was soon followed by loud cheers. Someone probably won a bet.Naruto's contrasting eyes stared at the direction of the sound with a blank, sad, almost longing look before exiting his home to head for the Hokage Mountain. They would probably be after him soon, anyways. Best not be close to them while he could.O0ONaruto sat swinging his skinny legs on the fourth's head, feeling more satisfied with him than the other leaders. That, and he wanted to sit on his less than ideal father's head just so that he could have bragging rights in the underworld that he dissed the fourth's head and got away with it.He sat and listened silently to the sound of the wind, tasting the sweet scent of the food in the village that rode on the breeze while trying to decipher all the kinds of foods the scents hid. He gazed at the moon, the fullness of it's shape illuminating he night sky. But that was what a normal person would see. All Naruto could see was the thrashing of ten, violent tails of the Juubi. He unconsciously moved his hand to his stomach, his hand resting on the seal. The moon... It's quite enjoyable. I'd never want to lose it. It's like a white rose in a dark cave. I wonder what it would look like painted red? He thought with a tilt of a head, his eyes with a look of wonder and curiosity.Naruto's reasonably peaceful moment alone was not to last, as a very large group of adults came in their drunken stupor, yelling and pushing each other playfully. Hearty laughs from everyone and a few squeals from women whom men had touched boldly in certain ways followed by the female's giggles in approval. Naruto turned around at the racket they were making with surprise lighting his figure. Nobody was supposed to be here!A man in his older years was the first to spot Naruto, seeing him on the ledge. The man's vision was haze and he could not see the boy properly. He could only see a blob of red and yellow hair, and the subtle silhouette of the boy. "Oii..." He slurred, "What 'cha doing ere, boy? Want a sipp?" He asked, waving a bottle of booze in his hand as he stumbled over a small rock. Naruto was disgusted by the man's words. Who would give a child alcohol?! He growled lightly, his honorable spirit rising against the shameful nature of the one before him. "Hey... ain't that the demon boy?!?" A middle aged man from the abundance shouted, stumbling back a few steps before regaining his balance. "Tsk." Naruto clicked, standing up with slight hesitation seeing how close he was to teetering off the cliff, but was able to step away from the dangerous ledge. His body crouched low as he prepared to run, but they quickly encased the boy in half a ring before his small legs could carry him anywhere. His attempt at running away only fueled the villagers' wrath. "Get 'im!" They shouted, taking out small daggers and throwing their glass bottles at the defenseless Naruto. Naruto snarled at them and slowly kept backing up, covering his face with his right arm. His arm was now a pincushion for the glass the villagers hurdled, his hair was now stained blood red with all the cuts from the sharp pieces of glass that ricochet off the stone. His wounds stung and promised scarring from the alcohol still within the shards that clung to his form. Finally, a pink-haired villager had enough of her eyes gazing on the beaten and bloody 'demon' before deciding to join in with her lackeys on the fun and threw a large stone, the mineral hitting Naruto's forehead.Naruto cried out from the pain, and fell back off the steep cliff as the villagers cheered at the 'brave' and 'noble' Haruno woman for killing the demon. However, unknown to the cheering crowd, an dark, ominous blistering fiery cold energy emerged from the very same area they had cast Naruto down the mountain. It crept and slithered like a centipede curling behind its prey as a man noticed that the light of the moon was no longer shining on them. It was a cloudless night, so he was curious as to what could be so large as to block out their remaining light. Ceasing his laughter, he turned around and let out a piercing scream. The cries and screeches were ceased as soon as they commenced, bloody gore flying through the air as the boy- no. The monster gutted the friend's grey intestines, ripping out his vocal cords with black-tipped daggers as claws as he screamed and howled to the heavens for divination as to what could possibly be so wicked as this thing. The people could not take the sight as their stomachers flipped themselves inside outwards and rejected and previous contents as the man's gaspy breaths that were lost in sound from no longer having a voice box as his spine was torn through his mouth. The fear from the people was so great that it choked and crushed the air itself as the thing ceased it's mutilation of the dead man whose mouth and eyes were open to the point they were splitting the eyelids and lips apart. His grey eyes were bloodshot as the contracted pupils seemed to stared lifelessly at the moon. The moon that smiled so wickedly down at him in gruesome lust at his torture. The creature's nightmarish face split into a wicked grin, where the corners of the mouth curled upwards to the beginning of it's ear in a foxish grin. It's gleaming, red-stained, pincer-like teeth glared against the light of the moon that made it's shadow loom over the crowd. And all was silent once more.
