As long as your chain combos are linked well you should be ok. Most of the time it is RNG for things to link together so have fun and win! Also make sure you are upgrading Tools/Equipment + Magatama. You probably knew this already but I myself have the same line up as you I just replaced Sasuke with Kakashi.

P.S. you have decent ninjas you should be fine!
