In her silent shock, Akula felt a burning rage welling within her, her fingers trembling with rage as she drew her blade, her face a furious mask. She leapt forward, a quick slash against the man standing between her and Mangetsu. As if expecting the move, the man attacked forward, his viper-like speed shocking for a man so large, and ripped the sword from her hands. With a single, swift movement, he raised his knee and snapped the short sword in two, a grin on his face as he bowed, almost mockingly, at his enemy.
"That wasn't very nice". He shouted, his voice booming though the night as Akula leapt back, a poisonous jet of fog desending upon the battlefield as she did so. Much to her horror, however, the man leapt forward though the fog, his hand crushing her ankle as his grin widened. Then, with the might of a giant, he flung her to the ground, following up with a powerful dropkick.
Just before she hit the ground, Akula forced herself to turn into water. Despite the trasformation not being quick enough to absorb the damage of the fall, it allowed for her to survive the following attack, one that would have crushed her heart has she not been able to transform.
Despite this, she was still pinned to the ground, with no easy way to rise, and the other two members of the team having likely fled.
This is not my day, she thought darkly, as the Iwa shinobi suddenly seemed silent, as if unable to kill a grounded enemy.
Oh, that's right, a second voice came though her head. The savage is afraid. He lacks any form of ranged weaponry. He can't get close because he's too worried I might stab another poisoned arrow or sword into his chest.
An answer to their deadlock came quickly enough, a blade singing though the mist towards the rock-like giant, who raised his right arm to parry, the blade bouncing harmlessly off the metal gauntlet as the man was forced back, only to find his trapped prey escaping, her water based body becoming flesh and blood once more. She rose again, picking up a dagger from a corpse as she did so. Only then, did she realize her savior was not her cowardly "companions", but one of the actors who had been tied down earlier.
So that's what the other two have been doing, Akula figured, catching a full quartet of figures grabbing the lifeless body of her cousin.
"Go." She hissed at the man who had saved her, waving him off and gesturing to the relative safety of a nearby rooftop. "We did not save you for you to die five minutes later."
The man, a boy no older than herself, possibly younger, hesitated for a moment,a moment which the Iwa nin took full advantage of, a fist covered in rock launched at the man, who replaced himself quickly with a corpse and fled, a shower of gore flying though the air as the corpse took the full force of the man's attack.
With a growl of fustration, the man turned to Akula, his right hand soaked in crimson, his left wrapped in stone, slamming it forward as rock pierced Akula's calves, who hissed in pain at the sudden attack. She staggered back, but found herself slammed against a pillar of rock, which had formed silently without her notice. With her bouncing back in surprise, the Iwa shinobi dashed forward, catching her with a vicious * to the stomach, knocking her breath away with a single punch.
He continued, his right hand, still coated with still warm blood, found it's way to her exposed neck, catching her in a vice-like grip. His left hand continuing to pummel her belly, each * leading to a raspy gasp as the girl tried to breathe, warm liquid spilling from the folds of her shorts as bright flashes of red and white robbed her of what little sense she had left.
Finally, the man looked upon the face of his victim, the girl's violet eyes painfully dull, her limbs hanging weakly by her side, her face a pale ash, her body growing oh so cold, so... suddenly hot?
The body exploded, a dozen powerful explosive tags hidden within the clone ripping into the man, engulfing him in a shower of flame, leaving behind the burnt husk of a man, one arm hanging loosely at his side, the other cleanly blasted off, face reduced to a charred, flaming skull. The corpse fell to it's knees, where it would remain until the dawn, where the first Iwa shinobi would arrive to find ...
Kiri would have it's revenge.
Author's note: And there you have it, Crimson fist being tricked and cooked alive (Hurrah for BBQ lovers and those dreaming of vengence for all the losing that occured prior to 2.0). Next chapter involves mourning for Mangetsu, who is oh so very dead, and the introduction of (more) Canon characters into the story, because let's face it, a story with only the 5 mains can only get so far.
Until then, please review. I want to understand where the community thinks my story should go.
Thx.
