If anything, he's just made as an offensive boost, He's the most versatile of the barrier, covering 3 different types as opposed to two, and that also makes up for him not having an extra ability, he's underestimated due to his backache, but if that thing hits, it does major damage, He also gives an extra move to someone, just like Kurotsuchi. If they got rid of his backache, he'd be more reliable due to interruption, maybe with skilll books, I haven't looked into them yet.

I kinda did the same things, I used him until I got Darui, and still use him to this day. Sure, I thought Darui's dmg was lackluster, but he made up for it in his special and all that paralysis, like, seriously, I can paralyze entire teams, and his barrier supports 4/5 of my team (Counting Main's water clone, otherwise 3/4).
