Chapter 1
Iwao had always longed for companionship in his life. With his only known family being a half-blood missing-nin, there wasn’t really anyone there to care for him. In the orphanage, where Iwao used to live, he’d made no friends due to his bad temper.
Iwao could be very nice, and he liked staying nice. He liked planting, and only ate vegetables. Iwao even took care of any stray animals that he came across.
But when he got mad, he got MAD.
Flying tables crashed into more tables, and dust *tered everywhere. Chunks of wood broke off as the caretakers screamed in fright and rage. The other children screamed as books toppled off the broken wooden shelves, the pages crumpling as they hit the floor. His own screams and laughter rang throughout the room as the ceiling finally gave out and crashed down onto him.
Iwao bet the caretakers didn’t even care when that happened.
And when all of it was over? Iwao would find himself curled up into a ball, his body aching in pain everywhere. The children would scream at him, point fingers, curse at him. The ANBU would arrive shortly to take him away, lock him up in a private hospital to be treated.
Would he be taken to the Konoha Torture and Interrogation Force?
Iwao’s fears as a child differed from his current fears. Or so he thought.
Now, he was a respectable tokubetsu jounin at the age of 16, known for taijutsu and taking lots of hits without falling. Iwao had even earned a nickname for himself: “Crimson Fist”.
I mean, what’s cooler than that?
But despite his ‘suaveness’, Iwao never found any companionship. Sure, he had a couple of close friends, but…
Darn it, he was just a lonely teenager looking for love.
Iwao earned his tanned skin and huge muscles (from training outside in the sun a bit too much), so why didn’t he have any love?
Even though his friends didn’t have very big love lives, at least they had more of one than his.
His closest friend, Rock Lee, seemed quite interested in Tenten. However, Tenten seemed to like Neji. And of course, Neji liked no one.
That was kind of the same dynamic as the old Team 7. Naruto liked Sakura, while Sakura chased after Sasuke.
Ryo was also one of Iwao’s best friends. Honestly, Iwao had no clue who he liked, if there was anyone at all. He had quite a few girls chasing after him, but Ryo would just let them down gently when they tried to ask him out.
Iwao knew Ryo once had a small crush on Kisaki, but her brother Keiji squashed that when he threatened to cut Ryo with his katana.
Granted, Keiji always felt like cutting someone with his katana, but Keiji looked especially murderous that day. Ryo still got along with him, though.Best friends forgive each other even when they’re feeling slightly homicidal…
Yumeko, Ryo’s half-sister, was very pretty. She knew this, and always used it to her advantage (even in battle!). Iwao might have had a little crush on her back when they were genin on the same team, but… he’s practically grown immune to it.
Mostly. Unless Yumeko tried to dress a little too skimpily.
Yumeko had a ton of guys chasing after her like rabid dogs. TONS. Even Sasuke didn’t have this many followers. Yumeko would literally uncover around five stalkers each day. And yet, she liked the guy who practically showed no emotion, Keiji.
When Keiji wasn’t strolling around looking for blood, he’d have this stoic and cool mask on. In fact, most people believed that was the only emotion he was capable of.
Iwao was very confused about Yumeko’s crush. He was sure Yumeko had caught a glimpse of Keiji’s * at the hot springs one day and instantly set Keiji as her new target.
Iwao thought his back was bigger and stronger than Keiji’s. Fortunately, Keiji showed zero interest in Yumeko’s cleavage. Personally, Iwao would be intimidated.
Okay, the bragging he’d done in the hot springs that day probably didn’t help his manliness. Ryo had gotten ticked off, while Keiji suddenly got quiet. The girls did not look impressed.
Speaking of girls…
Kisaki was a bubbly, fun person to be with. Her smile was always cute, if a little smug. In Iwao’s opinion, Kisaki was a better healer than Sakura (and maybe he was a bit biased).
Her movements during battle were always so graceful, even when poisoning the enemy and rendering them motionless. In the rare moments that she’s looking murderous (like her brother), it’s strangely fascinating.
Unfortunately, her brother’s overprotectiveness applied to him too. Except for the fact that Keiji paid less attention to Iwao.
Maybe I have a chance…
Poke.
Iwao flinched as he snapped out of his thoughts, focusing on Kisaki’s face. Right in front of him. Waaaay too close to his face!
“You’ve been out of it during practice lately…”
Oh gods, he wasn’t blushing, was he?!
To Be Continued…?
