Earth Main - Defense Knowledge

Does anyone know if Defense Knowledge is working correctly? It states "When this unit is in the field, your team's unit will have their resistance increased by 60% and defense increased by 20%". I checked my earth main's shield hp and do not see an increase and also the shield hp of other ninjas that apply shields and no increase at all. I figured since the talent is to increase a units resistance then so would their shield hp.
