Hello!
Started the game a few days ago, and even though I'm loving it so far, I'm feeling very anxious. It's always like that when I start a new game: that "I'm-not-sure-I'm-doing-what-I'm-supposed-to-be-doing" felling.
Since I started, I've only done Story Missions. Also, I did all lvl 20 Elite missions to get my Sakura, Sasuke and Naruto to 2*. That's the team I have atm, btw, Team 7. I've also upgraded their equipment. Should ou should I not do that?
I noticed, recently, that my characters' strenghts are lower then recommended, but I don't have enough Magatama or materials to improve my equipment. I don't even have enough gold to do it. It requires SO much gold!
So, is there a guide for me to read or something? Should I have invested in other characters? How do you get new characters in this game?
How do you play this game?
Thanks!

EDIT: Some questions I forgot to ask:
1) Is there a way to slow down battle? I mean, sometimes, when my turn starts, I don't even have time to click the Jutsu *on before Naruto attacks, and then I already lost the opportunity to use his Rasengan;
2) Is there a way to make all characters attack the same target? They seem to follow random patterns.

click on the enemy you want to target. special skill will hit that target. but normal attack will attack front row most of the time.

there x1 and x2 speed *on.

do ninja exams for magatama. you can reset it once a day.

survival trial mode can give you new ninja sometimes and finishing a chapter of story.

join a group(guild,clan however u call it)

My advices are:
Dont spend any seal scroll till you get the kage scrolls, dont spend any coupons for ninja fragments.. spend them for medium refines or medium threads when you need.
Find a group and spend most of your coins in group skills, later for equipment and then for 8gates..
There is a ninja who can make you slow the enemy but I guess you dont have her yet, also you cant make ninjas normal attack the same person unless its a mystery or have the same passive(attack the ninja with lower hp)

I won't recommend holding for kage, sage is worth doing and leveling from 70 to 80 literally takes months (70 is when sage opens, 80 for kage). Quite frankly, the amount of extra stuff you can get from sage world battle field in the months in between will outweight a bit of kage pull over sage.
Granted, traitor just got nerfed, so pulling that would be a *er, but Ao and sage naruto are both good enough to pull for.
Some of the pain would be worth it too, but that treasure have too much variance.

Magatama: make sure you make the as EVEN as possible, across all 20 slots (5 per equipment, 4 per equipment type on 4 chars). Of course, feel free to put the highest one on the most effective ninja, but don't go making lv 4 magatamas when you still have empty slots or slots with lv 2 magatamas. As for ninja exam where you get it, remember you get to try as many times as you want to grind pass a level (and once you pass it, you can sweep it so never have to grind again). This can come in handy, as you can literally try again and again for the one fight where everything goes right (your chance to blah blah hits all proc, theirs don't). Furthermore, make sure you carefully study the opponent and come up with a counterplan, the enemy don't change, nor does their behavior, generally it's fairly easy to interrupt/acupuncture them.

Make you sure you do survival, make sure you do it right, use a high sustain team with heals and/or shield for the first 9 nodes so that you don't lose anything on those easy fights. Then, you will have character to spare to grind pass the harder nodes.

Equipment improvement material, the scroll aside, can be farmed from plot instance. Hover your mouse over the material required will show a "!" mark on the corner, click it and it will tell you which instance you can get them from. Generally speaking, those are the best expenditure of stamina. Passing all the elite instance ONCE is good, but do NOT farm them all. Instead, pick and choose which ninja you think you might use for a long time, and farm those only. As far as the ninja that drops from elite instance, the most useful ones are kimimaro, guy, neji, hinata, sasuke, karin, kurenai, not necessarily in that order and differs by main and purpose. most of the others are completely useless.

Make sure the ninjas you use the most are polished: awakened, mooded, cultivated and farm their fragment to upgrade their stars. (note you can farm awaken mat on the awaken interface same as you do the equipment upgrade mats)

Make sure you join every event, even if you don't do well in them. That means fox, masuri, sage world battle field and great ninja war. Free reward is always good. You SHOULD have a dedicated fox team, as the mechanic is quite different from PvP, a dedicated team can easily double your damage and thus reward or even more.

And finally, just go around clicking every *on to check out every feature there is, completionist is the way to go, there are a LOT of different activity you can do to gain power.

Actually, when they released Kage treasures, the lvl requirement for Sage treasure was change (from 70 to 60). Kage treasures are released at lvl 70.

OP - hotkeys are your best friend in this game. Don't click to proc skills and you'll be just fine.

Yeah, echoing that. Get used to using QWER for mysteries (you will need to click the target with your mouse if you have just spoken in chat, but other than that its the easiest way.... and you can hammer keys just before the last round finishes to do a jutsu on Cooldown 1 at the start of the next round if you are really worried about getting it off in time ;).

Team 7 is the strongest starting team until you have some more ninjas. Naruto should be up front so his clones can cover other ninjas in the team to save some damage from getting through to them. Get them to 3 stars as early as possible.

Then start looking towards working on obtaining Hinata, Kiba, Tenten, Lee etc. Early game, Kiba, Lee and Tenten form a really easy to use 10-hit combo team that's good for doing nine tails events and some of the exam and instance fights where quick damage without a mystery is needed. Hinata, Neji, Shino, Ino and Shikamaru are your early game control ninjas, and working on the other Teams (8 and 10) form some easy combos, depending on your main ninja.

Don't worry too much about getting every ninja you see, but when you start unlocking adults (Kakashi, Guy, Kurenai, Asuma, Kabuto, Zabuza etc) they will be more powerful and start opening up newer tactics.

Simple early-mid game lineups:

Team 7

Lee + Kiba + Tenten (can replace Lee with Guy)

Hinata + Kurenai + Sakura/Tenten/Karin/Shizune/Asuma (really good for Wind Main)

Sasuke + Kakashi + Naruto (depending on Main)

If your server is 'Young' (meaning the average level your highest level peeps is in the 60's to early 70s) you 'can' wait till you have 10 scrolls and draw in Tendo Treasure for some useful ninja. I wouldn't waste too many coupons doing that though (maybe just buy the odd 1 or 2 to bring you up to a 10 now and then).

Lucky Board events are the best for coupon efficiency (the one with the dice rolls). Heavily Discounted Magatama are also good occasionally though you get free ones for ninja exam progress so work on that first.

By ninja exams do you mean that game mode where you keep defeating enemies and reaching new floors? If so, how much time per day would it take? I mean, I've been playing for 6 days, and I reached floor 22. If I tried to reach that floor everyday, it would take hours. I'm afraid I don't have that time everyday.

1) What do you mean when you say "kage" or "sage"?
2) What is an "awakened" character, and "mooded", or "cultivated"?

Thank you! You gave me a few more objectives. Just one question: when I was about to click Hinata's lvl 20 elite mission, it said there are 2 more missions in which I could acquire her fragments. I searched, but it doesn't seem I have these missions yet. Do you know when they'll be available?
Also, the only way to acquire fragments is doing these missions? It seems like it'll take forever. At least the drop rate should be 100%!

Awaken, Mood, and Cultivation are all aspects of the game that when you reach the specific level for the functions, it will give you a brief tutorial on how to do them. When you get there, you want to make sure your main ninjas that you use regularly are as high as possible for all of these things. This post was last edited by Niji at 2017-1-20 11:39

By Sage and Kage, they mean the treasures that are available later on in the game. Kage is the best one so far to pull from although there are really good ninjas in the other treasures as well.

Hello,
Welcome to naruto mmo. Hope you can enjoy this game well.
Let me try to clear up your doubts first:-

1) Yes, ninja exam is the floor where you defeat each level to reach higher. You dont need to clear each level everyday from level 1. At first, see how high you can reach, but dont push too hard to clear a certain level. Enemies get tougher as you reach higher. Everyday you can reset your progress, and then can sweep through it.
For example- Assume you reached floor lvl 22 in day 1. On day 2, you can click on reset and then sweep to reach upto floor 22 again, this will give your rewards from previous levels.

2) Since you just started, dont worry too much about terms as 'sage' or 'kage'. But just for information, if you click on the recruit *on at the lower right corner, a new window will pop up, something like this:-

These are threasure boxes from where new ninja's can be recruited. Opening them costs seal scrolls which can be obtained by different methods including real money. At first, you wont see all of these- only bond treasure and seal treasure. As you level up higher, different type of treasures will be unlocked.
As a tip, other players were suggesting and I too agree, dont spend your seal scrolls on either 'seal' treasure or 'tendo' treasure. Save all the seal scrolls you get for now to use them later on either sage or kage treasure. Sage treasure unlocks when you reach lvl 60, kage unlocks at lvl 70. So it will be a while before you see them.

3) If you click on Ninja tab and select train, can see a tab like this for each different ninja:

More you level up, these option unlocks gradually. all these things helps to make your ninja stronger.

4) you can buy certain character frags from shop too.

Different shops requires different currency. You can get these currencies from different places and events like- Survival trial, sage battle, matsuri event and others.
And yes, it takes time to upgrade a ninja's star.

For now, try to check out different functions of the game, just be careful about where you spend your coupons.

As for team building, I'd suggest to check out this video about team building.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0hAC2KAa-qg

For now, it wont be too useful, you can keep using team 7 for a while now. Later on, it can help you to creat your own teams.
Its not my video, but helped to understand the basic of teambuilding quite well.
Good luck.

WOW, thank you, that really helped. Could I ask you something else?
I just did what you said: reseted and swept through Ninja Exam. I noticed, though, that I got far less rewards. For example, previously, I receveid one magatama per floor cleared. When I swept, I only got like 4 magatama on total. Why is that? Are drop rates lower when auto clearing?
I also noticed that when sweeping through story missions. For example, on some missions, if I play it manually, I get like two or three items. If I sweep, I only get one. I suppose it's because, manually playing, you can open those chests that appears on the mission. But why is it like that?

You get a reward for clearing a ninja exam the first time you clear it - subsequent rewards from resetting would be mostly luck.
About story missions (plot instances) - You do get more rewards playing it manually because of the random drops on the map (coin purses and chests). However most of these are mostly insignificant and are swept to get specific items from that instance.
Most people sweep through a specific instance to get the necessary items they need to upgrade their equipment (upgrading items) / awaken their ninjas (awakening items). You'll know what items you need to upgrade your items under 'Strengthen'. - Recommend doing this to max out your equipments to increase your power.
Oh, personal advice: Save your coupons. You can get good ninjas at 2k+ coupons in events.
