I think one of his 2 debuffs with mystery will be removed, either ignite or poison.

I've only heard about him losing poison from his mystery, but he also gains the ability to chase twice I believe. I've played against him on other versions of the game I'm not suppose to talk about... but I'll say this, he is still good, just not as good at AoE damage. Stacking two stacks of poison round one with his chase does up him single target DoT though.

why would they change him? and how does it make sense to take poison away instead of fire.

The only time I "need" the poison badly is vs earth that have healers. The heal will be blocked by the ignition, remove the ignition but usually leave the poison to DoT pass the shield(most healer only remove one debuff per target per action), thus killing them eventually. Other than that, the poison is rarely enough to win or lose the battle for me.

That said, earth is hard enough to kill as is, I'm not entirely sure how I can deal with them as a wind w/o the dual debuff. Sure, he can at least still stop the heals, but now it will be harder to damage pass the shield.

Ninja exams will * now. Especially for the people who still have to get through those puppets that only take damage from Ignite and Poison.

No, each of them also take damage from a specific element, so you could use suigetsu for water, sasuke for lightning etc to pass them.
poison was just the "cheat" because it works against ALL of them, it's perfectly possible to pass the exam using method that is, for lack of a better word "intended", thou obviously much harder.

Yeah, I was just saying that there will be a lot more emphasis on awakening and cultivating ninjas that you would not have needed to do pre nerf. As he was capable of doing the damage on his own.
