Kimimaro or Kidomaru?

I tried Kidomaru and he is AMAZING. but Kimimaro, I've never tried him but his 3 star looks good. The only downside is that Kidomaru has a chase that also Poison enemies + an ability that does the same as kimimaro except it also does aoe reduce resistance :/.
I want to know if Kimimaro is overall stronger in terms of damage and defensive if compared with kidomaru's performance? I am having a hard time deciding which one to prioritize first. Please help me.
