But what if your chase chain carry an interrupt? For example, GNW Neji who combos off knockdown into high float with acupuncture.
If they use their charkra and you ARE faster (higher initiative), their mystery dies to the interrupt+acupuncture.
If they don't use their chakra, wanting to save it later for a cast, it get drained.

And besides, the mystery is the worst part of kisame. He have huge attack power when you have extra chakra (excellent with any chakra generator, like itachi, orochimaru, jigokudo), and can cause a acupuncture to whom he hits (almost guaranteed if you have full chakra), while not a tank, is reasonably durable thanks to his regeneration. The only thing kisame hates is clone, as that prevents his normal attacks from reaching valuable targets, which his mystery helps somewhat in clearing but might not be enough.

Kisame is long fight type ninja. And he is also not mean to stand in 1st movement slot or start off a combo because his nin sux and like you said there is no point to use his mystery on round 2 because enemy will consume all their chakra before you land a hit on them anyway.
Put him on slot 2 or 3 and force enemy to target him, if not he will eventually become a monster after 4, 5 rounds with his guarantee combo and hit like a truck everytime. This post was last edited by Kouka at 2016-12-12 08:01

he's a good way of forcing interruptions, like iruka, for nonprompt or ninja in lower priority positions

Sadly, he's not good, don't bother with him. Stats are too low to do anything and he is a COMMON in kage treasures. (meaning u can rolll him if u roll 10 times).

Despite everything said about him not being good, still seen in 90% of water lineups and a fair few lightning ones.

Like everything in the game, it's how you use it. The chakra drain is really annoying if you are dependant on extra-chakra generating abilities to use high 60 costs attacks early. Like everything in this game, his use is subjective.
