well maybe u need read all the shikamaru skills read with atention bc maybe you are not understanding the diference betwen the passive and the skill you can activate.
i use shikamaru with the sword main sasuke and hinata and works perfect.

The "Cause X status on critical hit" passives generally only work on the ninja with said passives, not the entire team.

What VNS said. I have seen it happen even when not doing a combo. If Shika crits, he will immobilize.

If you wanted to increase the chances of Shikamaru's crit -> immobile, Tenten would help you accomplish that, as she buffs crit rate for 2 turns at 2 stars. That would allow you to control without using Mystery or Chase.

"i tried to see if it would activate with lee and ten ten"

Tenten's Passive at the bottom states that she increases the crit rate of her team for 2 rounds. More crit % = more chance to crit. More chance to crit for Shikamaru = more chance of immobile activating. Either I'm reading Shikamaru's skill wrong or it's bugged.

ive seen some of this happen when using my control team. I wasnt sure if i was seeing things.

So let me get this straight.

With shika on your team, if someone crits, whoever gets hit will become immobilized? I dont think there's a chase animation, they just get immobilized...

What is your point ? The passive procs only when Shikimaru hit a crit, the chance of landing a crit mean nothing - even if you have 99% chance but end up not landing a crit, you still don't trigger the Immobile.
And yes, I experienced the skill and it works correctly. Opponent's Shikimaru hit me with his mytery, landing a crit, my genjutsu bounce back the first Immobile but my character still got Immobile from the passive.
