Besides the Reds/Golds, for just new items there's purple Gourd of Sand (Has worse stats than TI 70 Gourd?) and a Katari blade that I've seen on occasion.

Planetary Devastation = Gold
Mysterious Mask - Gold
Shichiseiken = Red
Aburame's Gourd = Purple
Reincarnation Mask & Ring = Red
Futo Nigimitama = Red
Tailed Beast Shruiken = Red
and so on.

I usually just call them based on their background colours, and their base stats. I think the only reason why red-background items don't have red names is because it will be hard to read the red text on the blue bg in the ninja tool panel. I notice that red-background tools also are more likely to drop with a good amount of bonus stats than gold ones are.


However, sometimes the base stats of the items of the same colour can differ oddly. For example, Gourd of Sand that drops in 81 (and, as rumour suggests, can very rarely drop in TI 40?) vs Aburame's Gourd that drops in 70, I have not seen this too much with red & gold items.
